  • Get the New Testament (and Old if you want) on CD, and listen to a whole book of Matthew, Mark, Luke, Or John all in one sitting. Just try it. You won't be left with the impression that it's OK for men to have sex with each other. Random verses here and there is one thing. Listen to it and get the full picture of what's being said. If you want to sleep with the same sex, don't pretend that you are following the God of the Bible.

  • For those of you that are gay haters: John 3:16 begins "For God so loved the world...." Not just Christians, white people, Americans, Repubs or Dems--everybody. So if a person IS gay, what's it to you? So you don't like it? Get a life. I don't like cantaloupe but I don't tell anyone it's wrong or a sin or you're going to hell if YOU do. Don't you gay haters believe you're going to Heaven? If so, then why are you all so miserable? How are you so different than the Taliban? Both hate!

  • @YHWHisSovereign Also if you use the bible to countenance your own fears and prejudices in relation to homosexuality, you must then in turn accept and live by all tenants of the bible i.e. you can't pick and choose

in exodus 21:7 "sell you daughter into slavery"

in Leviticus 25:44 "you should possess slaves either

male or female provided they are from neighbouring nations". These quotes were used by the of slave traders to legitimize what slavery. To follow the bible, should we have slavery?

  • First of all I want to explain that, I’m a born again Christian gay man. I used to attend the meetings in Rosslyn VA, and I just want to say that for me, and for what I judged from the group, It was a really a nice group of people, nobody said anything about not being gay anymore nor repair therapy, they were meeting compose by very smart group of people, and nobody inside the meeting said "I’m not gay anymore," nobody said "I used to be gay."

  • We used to hang out and have a great time together, we went together to see too fast to Furious 1, behind the back of the ministers, hahahahahahaha, and had a great time together, we had a blast. I’m doing great been gay now, I’m a Born Again Christian man who is gay, and I feel a call to the gay churches all over the world, support your gay bothers and sisters in Africa, thanks.

  • If there is such a thing as a gay christian, then we can conclude that there are murdering christians, lesbian christians, lying christians, prostitute christians, whoremongering christians, stealing christians. In the book of Titus, we are told: They profess that they know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. The first and last message of Christ was a message of REPENTANCE. TURN OR BURN, REPENT, OR PERISH.

  • @moseseseseses There are also judging Christians. Let's all repent together. After you...

  • @moseseseseses, of course, your trying to compare homosexuals with murderers is simply...jaw-droppingly stupid. If you are not rational enough or intellectually capable of understanding the difference between harmless, innate characteristics of a person, like homosexuality, and chosen, violent actions that harm others, like murder, you probably should refrain from making comments and embarrassing yourself further.

  • @moseseseseses - yeah, if you were to read THE BIBLE, you WILL find that these people exist that you mentioned. Your logic is invalid because you believe that a gay soldier would go to hell. Nevermind that he defended you and died so you can have liberty OR that a gay doctor that might discover a cure for some disease that could save millions of lives would himself go to hell just because he is gay. Their deeds and good works would not mean anything to God? God will decide that for Himself!

  • How sad that someone could be so deluded as to think that homosexuality and Christianity are compatible. This is apostasy that the church he attends is perfectly fine with his homosexuality.

  • @YHWHisSovereign, God knows that being gay and Christian are compatible. he is the one who makes people gay in the first place. Are you calling the Lord delusional? How sad that you don't know Him at all.

  • @MattFrame Did the Lord make rapists and pedophiles to?

  • @YHWHisSovereign, the Lord has nothing to do with creating your kind.

  • @YHWHisSovereign Sexuality is a continuum, some people are 100% gay while others are 100% st8, and others lie somewhere in between. For these people who they are with, can change as they have some attraction to all sexes .As humans what we hate outside ourselves, tends to reflect a inner fear within and about ourselves. Anyone who asserts that a gay person can become str8 must also accept that they a str8 person could become gay, This fear of ones own attractions, can lead to anti gay feelings

  • Good to see one of the founders of Exodus speak out against the organization, which may one day become a thing of the past.

  • If you're gay an Christian you're doing something wrong. Loose the bullshit and become a gay heathen.

  • How can Christianity and homosexuality be incompatible when that one you call Jesus the Christ was an avid homosexual himself? He was wild for men

  • Boy howdy...

  • HOLY BIBLE 2 SAMUEL 1:26

"I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women."

That said, well so THE GOD'S ANOINTED KING David loved someone the same gender and that love he felt towards him, Jonathan, was even stronger/higher than what David felt towards women... mmmmmm, doesn't it sound like homosexual love to you?!?

I just wonder why people keep hiding the truth! God bless us all!!!

  • Yes, I know that everyone who is born is a sinner. Being gay is NOT a sin though. God makes people gay and I am a born again Christian. You're the one that isn't a true Christian. Read the scientific evidence, Biblical research on the clobber passages and more. It ISN'T a sin, but you're obviously too close minded to listen to me. So pray about it and ask God to show you the real truth.

  • God does love everyone and nothing can separate us from that love. However, God cannot and does not overlook sin. The bible clearly condemns homosexual behavior. ((1 Timothy 1:10, 1 Corinthians 6:9, Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13, Romans 1:24-27)) It is a lie that people are born gay. It is a perversion that people can choose to endorse or reject. Much like someone can become addicted to pornography.

Jesus heals. Please turn to real truth.

  • @kyachris Things aren't always as clear as you think. People are born gay, it's been scientifically proven and obviously it's not a choice. Anyone who thinks it's a choice to be gay is actually bisexual.. seriously get with the program, go learn Hebrew and Greek, then come back to me. You'll almost certainly have a different conclusion then the one you've stated now.

  • @JonnySerge God never changes so my conclusion will not change.

  • @kyachris No he doesn't, but humans can distort his conclusion, which is exactly what they've been doing for years.

  • Being gay is a lifestyle . Being attracted to the same sex is Homosexual. There are plenty of Homosexual persons that do not consider themselves gay.. Why not just become a Druid and sacrifice Virgins on an altar stone ? That makes as much sense. Have you ever read that book. All it talks about is killing ,slavery, fornication , polygamy .This is 2009 are we still this primitive that we need some fairy tale to be moral human beings ?

  • this guy is 100% right!

  • the guy on the vid has no idea, he is deceived.... apostle paul says that we have been bought with a price,,, paul asks should we continue to sin?

you have really lost the way and the truth

  • Sorry to say but you're the deceived one. Research Biblical scriptures and see the real truth.

  • it should be a none issue.. to be accepted for what you are without condemnation is, after all very Christian..

  • I thought that Jesus taught to first love God and then, to love our neighbor. To me that means acceptance and comfort and not condemnation. Who is casting the first stone. Coming out takes tremendous courage...no your opinion on the issues. The Greek words used in the verses against homosexuality refer to such things as rape, power differential, orgies, adultry, cultural issues, polygamy and does not speak against homosexuality.

  • Very true, but nobody seems to research it and find out the truth themselves. They always listen to what their pastors say at the pulpit and never take matters into their own hands.

  • Exactly! Gid is love and forgives everyone. Levitcus and other scriptuers used as examples to condemn homosexuals are misinterpreted and probably don't even belong in the bible. You have to read those chapters wiht a critical eye. A lot of the "rules" in lev are absurd. For example, woman should cover their faces and be subservient to their man - or they're sinners and should be thrown out of the house of god. Blah Blah Blah. If you read that chapter literally, then we're all horrible sinners.

  • Yes we are all sinners and God is forgiving, but we must ask for His forgiveness, BEFORE we die

  • thank u sir 4 being truthful =]

  • Beware of False Teachers: 2 Peter 3:17 They will "wrest the scriptures" 3:16, distorting their literal meaning to conform to their own philosophical preferences. This will involve using "feigned words" 2:3-that is, words with devious meanings to make them say what their users wish to convey. They may well be very eloquent and seductive in their speech, "when they speak great swelling words of vanity" 2:18. They both practice and defend immoral acts, "having eyes full of adultery" v. 14

  • I respect this guy for his beliefs but why does he think homosexuality and the biblical god are compatible?

Leviticus 20:13 If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

This is just one of many verses in the bible condemming homosexuals and in many cases calling for their death. Being an atheist this is all just silly to me, but I wonder how he ignores the bible so much?

  • In Christianity, old testament laws don't apply since Jesus was the mark of the new covenant, etc. Yes, I know even Christians still site Leviticus yet the forget the parts about shellfish and working on the Sabbath.

There are a few verses in the New Testament, but Jesus wasn't involved with them.

So in other words, it really depends who you ask.

  • Matthew 5:18 'Truly I say to you, Till heaven and earth come to an end, not the smallest letter or part of a letter will in any way be taken from the law, till all things are done.'

That was Jesus talking there.... I appreciate that you believe yourself to be in new covenant times but the new covenant still includes all the old laws (-ones about sacrifice). Even if Jesus got rid of the death penalty, homosexual sex is still (biblically) a sin.

  • Being an atheist I don't think I'm in any covenant.

  • ah sorry, I paid a quick visit to your channel and saw you'd rated the video 'Christians for Gay Marriage' 5*. Perhaps my diagnosis of christian was hasty. Have a good one

    Rob

  • No problem. I love Christians! Just not one myself. In fact some of best friends are... :)

  • Read Galatains 3 Hebrews 7,8, and Hebrews 10:1-17

  • @bearchewtoy75 -Jesus said he did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. We are not saved by the law but we are to live by God's standards.

  • @kyachris But when you're a godless heathen like me, none of it applies!

  • @bearchewtoy75 there is no partiality with God.

  • @kyachris Who's being partial? I don't partly beleive in him. I completely don't! So, no hell for me tra-la-la!

  • @bearchewtoy75 you don't believe God exists, but you are trying to teach about his laws? Spiritual things are spiritually discerned.

  • @bearchewtoy75 yes they do Jesus himself said obey the ten commandments. the old testament is the story of God sending His Son to earth. I use to think the same but Jesus is the word he was there in the beginning as he is now and in the end.

  • @chadhub So, then where are the angry mobs of people telling the customers of Red Lobster about...O M G nevermind... I just saw the Confederate Flag on your channel. Of course, you believe in the Bible! It supports slavery!

  • @bearchewtoy75 U dont know what u are talking about....Gods moral laws never changed and never will...the ceremonial do but not the moral laws don't.....Homosexuality is immoral and if it was not then nothing regarding sex would be. U have misconceptions about Christianity and the old testament....

  • @bearchewtoy75 That is false...not intended to offend you though. But that is the teaching of the Devil that has been spread throughout the " Christian Sunday churches!" The laws of God in the old testament are still in effect! The Ten Commandments are here and ever present. Jesus in the new testament says " If you love Me, keep My commandments." The Law of ,Moses was clearly done away with but not the Laws of God! You can not serve God and the Flesh! God 1st! Matt. 28:20 Jesus says obey All.

  • "Jesus in the new testament says " If you love Me, keep My commandments."

I think the key word there is "My" which some may be mistaking for Mosaic Law. Christ refuted much of the Law of Moses and even said the part of it on divorce was wrong from the beginning in Matt: 19:9. But if He even refuted a SINGLE law, it would leave He did not address in question.

  • If you would look further into Leviticus you would see that not also is homosexuality is a sin but also is wearing blended fibers, also cutting of ones hair, also any piercings. There are so many Laws in there that no one man can obey them. Thats why Christ came and died and gave us grace to save us from the law. Please go and check out my video and keep an open mind and you just might learn something.

  • Being a follower of Christ does NOT mean that you will be EXACTLY like Jesus (having a beard, being Jewish, celibate, etc.). It just means that you have made Him your Lord and Savior. You CAN be gay and love Him. God knows that we're not perfect; that's why he sent us Jesus to begin with. All that He wants is us to give ourselves completely to Him, and to receive all that He wants to give to us: love, faithfulness, hope.

  • @biggiejeffrey All this is true..but the law of sowing and reaping is true also...If there are Christians with enough wisdom, knowledge and love to help homosexuals from experiencing the consequences of homosexuality then that is good also.....

  • Christians are incompatible with everyone, not just gays. They are against women, different nationalities, children, ect.

  • LOL

    so true

  • Christianity = following the path of Christ. Sorry but Christ was not homosexual, neither was he a recreational heterosexual like so many people are today. He was celibate. Unless you can follow the celibate or the householder path of some apostles, don't bother calling yourself a Christian.

  • heituzi, if everyone was celibate, then there wouldn't be anyone to follow the path of Christ.

  • Right, if everyone were like Christ, the kingdom of Christ would be complete, and people would cease to have material bodies.

  • Are 'gay' and 'Christian' incompatible? Well, yes and no.

To be a believer in Jesus Christ is to acknowledge that you are a sinner and have accepted Christ's atoning work on the cross. Obviously, Christ's redemptive work covers homosexuality - so, 'yes.'

Where it's 'no,' is to refuse to acknowledge that homosexuality is incompatible with revealed Biblical truth. The original design is for 'man' and 'woman' with the natural physical characteristics being obvious.

    So, 'yes' and 'no.'

  • Oooh that sounds... odd. ^^

  • Amen!

  • and even as a side B'er ones orientation is different from one's actions.....not everyone is side B but I feel God calling me to celibacy but I am gay and I did not chose to be this way but I can choose whether to continue to love the Lord despite my sexual orientation and I Love Jesus He's just so amazing.

  • Why all this argument about it? Ffor Heaven's sake, if people can be heterosexual and Christian, then they can be homosexual and Christian. END OF DISCUSSION!

  • (I was even subjected to a pseudo 'date' rape by a minister when I was lured into his apartment The only minor detail was that I wasn't even aware that I was on a 'date'!)

And all this happened in the evangelical/ charismatic variety of gay churches I have attended, while those liberal varieties without such carnal sins practice buffet Christianity and/ or apostasy: To be continued.

  • The carnality within these churches has really made me question if one could be a gay person and God-fearing Christian. Pastors who would go out on dates with newcomers to the church with catastrophic consequences, church leaderships that turn a closed eye to and get defensive about sexual addictions among members of church and condone malicious gossiping in the congregation, disguised or blatant racism and the general lack of accountability. To be continued.

  • After twenty years of the life as a gay Christian, I have serious doubts about the authenticity of the gay Christian movement. So many things I have witnessed in the course of years at various gay/ gay-affirming churches were so far removed from what Bible teaches us as the fruits of the Spirit. To be continued.

  • most church christians will use the example of sodom & gomorrah to attack gay people. the truth, is sodom & gomorrah were destroyed for the 'Strange Flesh' that the inhabitants of those cities were going after. was it really human? or something else - alien? fallen angels?

  • Thank you for sharing an important message.

  • Wonder if he's come across the g0y movement yet (g0ys dot org). Slams some of the common misperceptions many Christians have about guys who are attracted to guys--and does it Biblically!

  • But how do you, as a Christian, counter all the statements in the Bible about homosexuality being a sin (Romans, Timothy, leviticus etc?). What criteria do you use for deciding which parts of the Bible are nonsense?

  • Please at first: try this for yourself. Try to live every(!) sentence, every statement of the bible by yourself, before ask other people that question.

Not the whole bible talks just about homosexual people. There are soo many statements of so much situations of human being. And no one seems to care about that. Everytime I hear that statement against homosexual people, but the bible is not really only written for us.

Try yourself to practice all these statements as far as you could.

  • For many of us, it is the only question that matters. We will not turn the other cheek as holy nutcases line up to show their Biblically-inspired, murderous intolerance for the way we are. Pat Robinson, (the thankfully deceased) Jerry Falwell (who described 9/11 as 'Gods wrath because of the city's tolerance of gays and abortion'), Fred Phelps for instance. How Christian love is undergirded with menace!

  • One simple commandment: "Love thy neighbor as thy self." Trying living in the spirit of the "Sermon on the Mount."

  • Ask yourself this...what did Jesus preach about homosexuality? To be a Christian, one believes in him a Savior and follows his teachings. He said absolutely nothing about gays. Later, Paul did, but it appears he was trying to tie in the social norms of the day into the newly evolving church. If it had been important, I am certain Jesus would have spoken out. Clearly, Jesus did not consider being gay an issue. The issues were loving God and our neighbors as ourselves.

  • You're right, Jesus never specifically taught about homosexuality...but he also never said a single word about bestiality, sado-masochism, child molestation, etc.

    Silence doesn't equal acceptance.

  • Homosexuality is normal and is not harmful to oneself or others. It can be the springboard to a loving, committed, intimate relationship, as heterosexuality can be.

The other issues you mention are not innate, however. In other words, people are not born being attracted to "lower" animals, children, or to inflicting or accepting pain. These desires appear to be formed from tragic and skewed life experiences that damage one's sense of self-worth or value.

    (post to continue...)

  • (post continued...)

In addition, unlike homosexuality, these issues are harmful to oneself and others. One degrades oneself emotionally and spiritually by having sex with "lower"animals, one injures oneself or others in sado-machochistic sex, and one irreparably harms children by taking such dire advantage of them for one's one pleasure.

    (post to continue...)

  • Respectfully, I suppose we would have a foundational divergence with the idea that homosexuality is 'normal' and 'natural.' If we were all homosexuals, we would be extinct. That alone points to a natural order that, sad to say, homosexuality doesn't equate to.

This, of course, doesn't mean that homosexuals should be despised, etc. - we are in complete agreement that they should be loved because, as you say, Jesus told us to love each other.

  • It is natural for some to be gay, others to be straight. What would be unnatural would be if everyone were gay.

I'm glad we are in agreement that we should love one another.

  • It's interesting that you noted the obvious problems with sado-masochistic sex and sex with children. So much of gay culture that has 'forced itself' into the public consciousness over the last twenty-five years, has created the stereotype of anonymous S/M sex and, very sadly, man/child sex through the organization NAMBLA, which still parades on 'Gay Pride' days.

Of course, if anybody ever vocalized disagreement with these practices, one was, and still is, labeled a 'homophobe' or 'bigot.'

  • Don't get me started on NAMBLA! What a dreadful organization. I have many gay friends, and not a one supports such groups. The "gay culture" that has received so much media attention is that which tends to be on the edge. Just as most Christians don't belong to fringe elements such as the FLDS or Branch Davidians, most gays aren't the in-your-face, S/M, NAMBLA types. It's sad that what the media chooses to show is often the most outrageous. Ordinary people, straight or gay, get little air time.

  • Oh, and johnlorican, thanks for your very civil responses. I'm surprised at how many people, on either side of the discussion, seem unable to share their views without getting rude and insulting.

  • Thank you for your kind words.

The wonder of this kind of technology is that it allows everyone access to verbalize thoughts and opinions on tough and controversial issues - and yet so many see it as an opportunity to curse each other and lob verbal hand grenades...which is so sad.

My goal is understanding. I have strong opinions based upon 47 years of living life, but I'm always interested in what other, well-thought out, perspectives are - and I attribute that to my faith in Christ!

  • I have fairly strong opinions as well, based on a few more than 47 years - though only a few more. :) I am also interested in others' views on different issues. I try my best to hear them out and to realize that even though some of our ideas may differ, many with whom I talk have their lives rooted in a genuine love for God and His Christ and a desire to share His love with others.

  • I would agree with everything you said.

I would think, however, that 'Gay Pride' days are considered to be within the mainstream of gay culture - and much of the gay pride parades center on those 'fringe elements' - which helped to create the stereotypes in the first place.

  • Johnlorican, I may only have 18 and a half years of experiance but in that time I've experianced a lot. I myself am homosexual, and have never once found myself attracted to a girl. I moved to Ohio a year ago, where I met my now boyfriend(We've only been dating for 4 months) and are in a loving commited relationship. Excluding my boyfriend and I, I know 17 people who aren't heterosexual in my town. Some are homosexual, bisexual, pansexual, and one of them is even A-sexual, and range in age...

  • from 16 to 64. And none of us have a preticularly good view of Gay Pride, or even wish to take part in the parade. It really doesn't show who real gay people are, and really harms all of us. Not to mention, S&M, pedophilia, zoophilia, etc. are paraphilias. Not sexualities, and just incase you don't know a paraphilia is a mental illness that is usually caused from abuse. Seriously though, I was a straight A student in high school, popular, I do a lot of community service, etc. but people never...

  • see people like me on TV, or even hear about us. You usually just see/hear the extream of both sides of things.

  • Thanks for commenting.

I had forgotten I posted on this; it was so long ago (!)

You're correct; television only flocks towards the extreme. They LOVE conflict...and I don't think it matters 'who is against who' with them.

Although you and I might disagree on basic tenets with homosexuality, I'm glad to hear that you're not into the 'Gay Pride' elements.

    Good luck in life!

  • (post continued..)

Jesus said we should love God and one another as ourselves. We should ask ourselves, are we loving as He commanded? He didn't need to address each sexual issue, as we should use His commandment as our guide. Since being gay is natural and, when not harassed or fouled by human fears, can form loving partnerships, it meets the standard for loving one another and oneself. The other issues you mention aren't natural and don't meet the standard for loving one another and oneself.
