I feel like the problem with S&M was precisely that it was a live performance, complete with the crowd screaming and singing along, and the singer deciding to throw in the word "baby" at random points. I always wished S&M had been recorded in a studio instead like this probably was.
@SpiritualFraud The idea of S&M is different to this. This is a tribute, the orchestra in S&M were supposed to play along side Metallica, so it makes sense that they did not play as much. For example there's no vocal line played by the orchestra in S&M.
@SpiritualFraud no way man, this is good but the vocal line doesn't really sound right, where as s&m is maybe the best live recording of battery ever and the into is much better on the basoon instead of flutes
@tallicarule1991 I never liked S&M, it sounds too artificial for me, it's too obvious that the arrangements were composed after the whole writing process by someone who's not in the band. Like if your grandma cooked a cake and your neighbor comes and put too much topping on it, it kills the taste of the cake, even if you like topping. But it's just my opinion, you don't have to agree... \m/
@SpiritualFraud I like S&M a lot, but I know exactly what you're saying. There were some songs that felt off because of precisely what you said--the arrangements were done after the fact. I mean, I feel like Call of the Ktulu are an exception here, I have never loved a song in such a way.
But it's demonstrated nicely again in No Leaf Clover, where they DID collaborate.
That sounded so awesome on the HiFi system. If they're doing requests, I've got a 1500 song playlist that'll keep them busy. How about some Tiesto, LTJ Bukem, Turntable Symphony, oh my god RICK ROLL, Michael Jackson, Remarc, 808 State. They should play Lost - "The Gonzo".

unlike most things this word is used for, this song is deserving of the word epic.
