  • Thanks nyakuti5 for the upload

  • If weren't for the European technology, knowledge and colonialism, what would would Africa do with copper, germanium, bauxite, oil, etc? NOTHING.

They didn't even know those natural resources were useful in some way. If they did, they would've exploited it way before the Europeans started to colonize Africa. They were totally clueless!

  • @amazingdany who told you that? do some actual research and come up with facts befor you just go blurting stupid shit out of those apeishly thin lips of yours. The greek learned most of what they knew from the africans in K.mt. europeans also learned how to use all of their resources from, asians. eruopeans are just albino middle easterners...

  • @jmuckeroy HAHAHAHAHAHA! The truth is hard one to swallow, boy... Here, read the truth again:

Put those sentences in your empty afrocentric bullshited mind.

  • @amazingdany u must be white...the simple fact is we had our own ways of living n utilised our resources in our own ways.

  • @amazingdany Kinda like the Europeans didn't know how to use the resources in the new land without the Native American. Starving and dying of untold sickness the Native American came to their rescue and showed them the way! What happened to their expertise when they got to the new land? They never had it is what happened! When they came to Africa the people were using the resources they just did not "exploit" them. what would be the need to do something like that? Use only that which is needed.

  • One if not the only excellent documentary on African countries, peoples and cultures told for once by an African professor and Historian! Through an African perspective! Its sad though that its difficult to find any DVDs for this beautiful documentary! I have searched everywhere to find DVD copies to this 9 part episode documentary in vein. Thanks to Nyakuti5 for uploading this documentary! We need more documentaries like this that puts a true human face on Africa and Africans! :) Aan

  • Hi Nyakuti, can you please advice me how I can acquire the full series ? I would be very grateful :)

  • I used to watch this series on PBS in the 80's and enjoyed it. It was the first time I heard of the African, rather than the European/American, perspective of Africa. I liked the episode "Global Africa".

  • Ok now watch:

    Islam -Dr.John Henrik Clarke

  • I agree with Kinghercules. Also watch

The Zulus - Dr. John Henrik Clarke. He mentions Ali Mazrui in the first and second videos

  • A. Mazrui appear to present this series like a T.V. news narrator.

  • I am entralled with the 'African' closing music theme tune used for the series. Does anyone have the music to upload on this 'African series' (by A. Mazrui)?

  • ali mazrui is an exceptional free thinker.

  • ali mazrui is nothing but an apologist for the islamists in africa, the man is intellectually dishonest

  • @idiley

And what is wrong with showing Muslims as ordinary people and not a bunch of wide eyed terrorists? You missed the whole point of the documentary if u think Mazrui is solely apologizing for Islamists. He's speaking about African peoples particulary both Christians and Muslims and the consequences of European colonialism and explotation. Islamists has nothing to do with this film!

  • I've watched the entire series, Ali Mazrui is a real genius everything he said is exactly what the continent has gone through and still is going through.

  • @hardkicka

Do you have the entire series with you presently?

cos i've been looking for this documentary for a while now
