@darkhawk123 I get a kick of unintelligent people like you who would rather have an establishment, career politician (used car salesman) in office rather than a principaled, honest man.
@odinsragess I just think the state Republicans should have found a better candidate is all. This guy isn't all he should be. How am I am supposed to get excited about Ron Paul 2.1? He is going to run for president one day, and on that day I am going to be underwhelmed.
@wahahn I can't wait to post here on November 2rd when Paul, Paladino, Christie, O'Donnell, & all other Tea Party folks go down in flames. Your "the elections a fixed" cries will not help you sleep at night. They are terrible candidates running on an insane Populist policy of repeal everything from Social Security, to shutting down the Post Office, to shutting congress down. You folks HAVE no platform to run on. Just screaming "No". THAT'S why you'll loose
@wahahn yes you will. That's the beauty of our process, your wild predictions trying to echo 1994 have consequences. You might not like the reality. Be well!
@dynomyght functioning agencies existing since 1775, & 1935 will end? Your party has been screaming this after they were enacted, & now as they still work today. Nothing's perfect, & we can always strive for better, but I wish I could grant all your Tea Party uber right Libertarian views in place to watch you stand there screaming "What, I have to spend $6.47-$7.94 per letter to mail my Netflix back because I can only use UPS/Fed Ex/DHL?". Franklin would be a socialist to you nuts
@dynomyght "posted"? You mean "mailed" or "sent"? Their rates are MUCH higher, they are premium services with a higher price. It's not debatable, it's economic fact. Now their are always exceptions like if you use Fed Ex to send a letter, but the Post Office to send a chair. The chair is higher because of size & weight. But compare the PO with Fed Ex for the same service. PO is almost always cheaper
@Garmichael1 you'd scream the world flat because you could. Your google is broken like your brain. Type in: Post Office vs Fed Ex Prices. You will get this from consumer reports. For the same size package next day air USPS is $36.85. For the same service from Fed Ex $73.50, & UPS $73.50. 2 Day Air USPS is $16.80, while for Fed Ex & UPS it's $43.65 each. Postal Service doesn’t add a fuel surcharge, & discounts for those using on-line shipping. You don't know what you're talking about

@darkhawk123 Unfortunately most tea party people are ignorant to this fact like you and even moreso they are most likely to be zionist. Nothing wrong w/ the Tea Party. I agree with about 90% of what they say as opposed to about 60% of republcian and maybe 20% democrat.
@ks7800 Are you serious? You guys are a joke and you still think that by simply saying someone is a racists or that they want to starve old people or throw the kids our of school that anyone with half a brain believes you? Really?
Your day has come and thank God, gone. America will not be fooled by the likes of you and Jack Conway and they sure don't believe your lies anymore.
He wants people 55 and under to eventually pay. Having an adult conversation and not demagoguing the issue, most reasonable ppl would agree that medicare will be broke in a few years. Career Politician needs to admit that he supports 95% of the Obama Agenda, which is why he beat out the moderate Mongiardo. He was for cap/trade (w/ exceptions) before he was against, was for war in iraq before he was against it, and was for letting majority of bush tax cuts expire.
@stoneecold23 No reasonable person would agree that Medicare is going to be broke in a few years. The latest projections show that the hospital fund will be insolvent in 2017 - however, it's worth noting that those same projections always show a near-term insolvency. From 1970 to 1999, the projected insolvency date was always before 2010 - yet it's not insolvent now. In 1970, the projected insolvency date was 1972. This is a question of taking in what we pay out, not radically changing Medicare.
It is radically changing the system to tell future generations that in 20-30 years they may have to pay a higher deductible? What's reckless is letting career politicians like Jack-O scare senior citizens into voting for him, implying to them that Rand wants to slap them with a high deductible. The baby boomer population contradicts what you are saying. There will simply be far too large a population that is retired in the next decade, and we will need a higher deductible.
Pretty sure it was 200000. And I'm just saying, your political worldview seems to clearly coincide with the democrats'. Your comments about them are nothing more than partisan bile, they're meaningless.
the best part about this ad is that it made conway furious. He came on a radio show and threatened to sue Paul and said that his attornies are looking at this commercial for false advertising.

@stoneecold23 no, this is way better than his campaign. The tone isn't mean-spirited but the message is clear. Obama never had a commercial that was as good as this one.
jack conway deleted my comment on americas inmate population and incarceration rates on the ad where he said your to soft on crime The United States has the highest documented incarceration rate in the world The U.S. incarceration rate on December 31, 2008 was 754 inmates per 100,000 U.S. residents, or 0.75%.[3] The USA also has the highest total documented prison and jail population in the world i think thats a address that needs to be issued when he says that again and he signs death warrants

@fras1788 YOU NEED CAPITAL TO CREATE JOBS. THE ONLY WAY YOU GET CAPITAL IS THROUGH SAVINGS. WHO SAVES? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM THE RICH. YOU, SIR, ARE THE MORON!
@Bain1998 Lol, most of the people I know involved in the Tea Party including myself are not religious. There is an overlapping between the Religious Right and the Tea Party, however, they are the nutcases. If they take up social issues as their main platform, they will fail. If not, they will succeed. Only time will tell.
haha... your scenario is wrong - free market will stop everyone from trying to start a fishing company (supply and demand, you know, that thing that happens on its own without control of the govt.)
Here's another one:
Conservative - educate everyone and let them govern themselves
Socialist - sit down and shut up idiot, I am the elite, and I will do a better job of taking care of you than you yourself, I'll take everything you own and do what's best for the "greater good" / (rulling class)
@383mazda That makes no sense - I don't even know if you read the post. The free market will not stop them from devastating the fisheries - that's precisely why they're in catastrophic decline. Fish sticks used to be cod, then they were haddock, then pollock as each was fished out from the North Atlantic fishery. Cod was listed as endangered by the WWF. Companies, particularly in today's fast-paced financial environment, are not structured so that they can refuse to take short-term profits.
@ImTheSecretSquare - I'm no fish stick expert, but that's why you educate people so they can govern (and regulate) themselves - there is no need for big govt to run everything. Besides, I don't eat fish sticks, I know how to fish and I enjoy real food, not processed stuff.
I'm for small govt and free market, - it has a proven track record. It's only problem is the amount of weath it creates - you can't grow that wealthy for very long before big gov tries to take that over and control it
@383mazda Hope you enjoy the fish while you can - fish stocks are declining rapidly.
And small gov't and the free market actually has quite a bad track record - consider the massive boom-bust cycles throughout the 19th century. That's why we created the Fed in the first place, to stop the constant busts. Moderate government regulation has been the key to the United States' steady growth since 1945, it's what put us on top - and deregulation is what is dragging us under.
@holidayhouse03 Erm, you seem to make two different contradictory statements. Is moderate government regulation the problem or is it fractional reserve banking? Moderate government regulation was what STOPPED the bank induced boom-bust cycles - and it is the deregulation of the last twenty years that has restarted them.
@ImTheSecretSquare Govt is enormously bigger than it was in the 40's - we have more and more regulations every day and nothing is getting better. If you say "mild" regulation is what put us on top in the 40's than I'm 100% for going back to govt and regulations of that size!!!!!!! Again, regulation is needed, but not a ton and not dealing with everything. An educated and self reliant population does not need a large govt, or even a medium one for that matter.
@383mazda Government regulation was significantly greater in the 40s than it is now - spending has risen due to other factors. If you are truly 100% for going back to 40s-level regulation, well, I hate to tell you this, but that was when the Democrats had a near-lockdown on Congress. Between 1932 and 1994 the Republicans were only the majority party a few times, never for more than two years consecutively.
@ImTheSecretSquare Democrates of today and far different than they were back even ten years - "ask not what your counry can do for you, but what you can do for your country..." That quote is polar opposite of what democrates stand for today with all their entitlements and handouts.
Give me a list of all the regulations and taxes of the 40's compared to now. The govt just blew over $22 million in stimulous money to dead people - BIG GOVT = bad, Capatilism btw has a great track record
@383mazda  Between 1936 and 1980, the top marginal tax rate was never below 70%, and during the 1940s it was never below 81%. Today it is 35%. Your comments belie a total lack of understanding of the situation - indeed, you seem openly Democrat. The Jack Kennedy quote is a perfect example - you think that's for less taxes and regulation?! You do not seem to understand your own candidate's position nor do you have seem to have any historical perspective whatsoever.
@ImTheSecretSquare What did you have to make to qualify for 70% tax rates? And i'm usually pretty thick skinned, but calling me democratic crosses a line :) I'd like to think I'm pretty conservative. I'd like the fed govt to protect my boarders and make sure my money is worth something, that's it. I'm no history buff but you can see what results with socialism / communism - it's people are never free, not even close to what we are today. Total dependancy on a govt is not freedome
@jimbojim68 where is the money supposed to come from for people to collect ss and medicare, and all the other entitlements? Haven't you heard of a ponzi scheme, eventually there is not enough money to pay out? That's what ss and medicare are. Rand Paul is raising the issues to prevent the U.S. from falling off a cliff, but you care about is who is gonna give you cash for doing nothing!
@igotzfiveonit For years politicians have not dealt with the SS issue because it still had money in the till. But this year because of the economy SS is operating in the red. It is paying out more then it is getting in revenues. It has to be dealt with the time is now. We have to reform SS or raise SS tax to 18% and medicaid to 3% or cut benefits to the baby boomers in half. Even doing that just pushes the date up 7 years before it is bankrupt again. Real reform is needed now.
@igotzfiveonit Such big assumptions from a small-minded person. I'm a self-made business man employing 11 full-time employees. I get no help from the government and don't need any. It's called compassion. WWJD? That's my motto. Social security is sound and any problems are fixable if politicians would quit raiding it. Medicare needs work. These programs saved millions of the elderly from poverty in their old age, which used to be the norm.
hahha this ad is really irking conway too. He came on a talkshow and talked about how his attorneys are looking at the ad and possibly thinking of filing a lawsuit....
suing the paul campaign b/c he doesn't want to be associated with obama!!
Socialist: Wants control of determining how much of a fish, if any, you deserve per day - said socialist will confiscate fish from hard working fisherman and redistribute fish to those too lazy to fish on their own (and who, ironically, do not deserve any fish at all). Socialist endoctrinates population that they are entitled to fish - outlaws free fishing - hard working fisherman cannot fish enough - socialism fails.
@383mazda Oooh, are we indulging in blanket generalizations? I can come up with one!
Conservative: Wants to remove fishing regulations, resulting in overfishing and pollution by the fishing companies. Fishing stocks decline past the point of replacement, resulting in higher prices for fish and eventually the end of the world's fisheries, and bankruptcies and layoffs in fishing companies. (Google "world's declining fisheries" while we're on the subject.)
@ImTheSecretSquare People continue to eat fish? As I recall, in a socialist society, private companies get in bed with government and you end up with a "China." China is very socialist, and I'm guessing they aren't exactly an environmental standard to look up to.
@eifersucht2 Guessing isn't helpful. China has been the largest fishing nation for years. Like other nations, they started experiencing declines in their marine fisheries in the late 90s - unlike other nations, because of their ability to tightly regulate the industry, they've taken strong actions against the declines, including relocating fishermen and putting a moratorium on fishing during the hot season. They now have much stronger fisheries than we do.
@rcurren69 Yeah, 'cause that's why the subtitles are there. He's racist. It wouldn't be because someone with low or no hearing would want to watch the ad. Hell, are you sure those deaf people can even vote?
I am a big Rand Fan but I am very disappointed that his campaign has stooped to negative attack ads. Just tell us what YOU stand for Rand. Your ideas are great - you do not need to attack your opponent - it makes you look as sleazy as he is. Please clean up the campaign.

I'm for small govt and free market, - it has a proven track record. It's only problem is the amount of weath it creates - you can't grow that wealthy for very long before big gov tries to take that over and control it
383mazda 1 year ago
@383mazda Hope you enjoy the fish while you can - fish stocks are declining rapidly.
And small gov't and the free market actually has quite a bad track record - consider the massive boom-bust cycles throughout the 19th century. That's why we created the Fed in the first place, to stop the constant busts. Moderate government regulation has been the key to the United States' steady growth since 1945, it's what put us on top - and deregulation is what is dragging us under.
ImTheSecretSquare 1 year ago
@ImTheSecretSquare
it was moderate govt regulation that caused the bank induced boom-bust cycles.
Fractional reserve banking is the problem and should be outlawed.
holidayhouse03 1 year ago
@holidayhouse03 Erm, you seem to make two different contradictory statements. Is moderate government regulation the problem or is it fractional reserve banking? Moderate government regulation was what STOPPED the bank induced boom-bust cycles - and it is the deregulation of the last twenty years that has restarted them.
ImTheSecretSquare 1 year ago
@ImTheSecretSquare Govt is enormously bigger than it was in the 40's - we have more and more regulations every day and nothing is getting better. If you say "mild" regulation is what put us on top in the 40's than I'm 100% for going back to govt and regulations of that size!!!!!!! Again, regulation is needed, but not a ton and not dealing with everything. An educated and self reliant population does not need a large govt, or even a medium one for that matter.
383mazda 1 year ago
@383mazda Government regulation was significantly greater in the 40s than it is now - spending has risen due to other factors. If you are truly 100% for going back to 40s-level regulation, well, I hate to tell you this, but that was when the Democrats had a near-lockdown on Congress. Between 1932 and 1994 the Republicans were only the majority party a few times, never for more than two years consecutively.
ImTheSecretSquare 1 year ago
@ImTheSecretSquare Democrates of today and far different than they were back even ten years - "ask not what your counry can do for you, but what you can do for your country..." That quote is polar opposite of what democrates stand for today with all their entitlements and handouts.
Give me a list of all the regulations and taxes of the 40's compared to now. The govt just blew over $22 million in stimulous money to dead people - BIG GOVT = bad, Capatilism btw has a great track record
383mazda 1 year ago
@383mazda  Between 1936 and 1980, the top marginal tax rate was never below 70%, and during the 1940s it was never below 81%. Today it is 35%. Your comments belie a total lack of understanding of the situation - indeed, you seem openly Democrat. The Jack Kennedy quote is a perfect example - you think that's for less taxes and regulation?! You do not seem to understand your own candidate's position nor do you have seem to have any historical perspective whatsoever.
ImTheSecretSquare 1 year ago
@ImTheSecretSquare What did you have to make to qualify for 70% tax rates? And i'm usually pretty thick skinned, but calling me democratic crosses a line :) I'd like to think I'm pretty conservative. I'd like the fed govt to protect my boarders and make sure my money is worth something, that's it. I'm no history buff but you can see what results with socialism / communism - it's people are never free, not even close to what we are today. Total dependancy on a govt is not freedome

Cool ad. Rand Paul is good for America.
quizerry 1 year ago
@jimbojim68 where is the money supposed to come from for people to collect ss and medicare, and all the other entitlements? Haven't you heard of a ponzi scheme, eventually there is not enough money to pay out? That's what ss and medicare are. Rand Paul is raising the issues to prevent the U.S. from falling off a cliff, but you care about is who is gonna give you cash for doing nothing!
igotzfiveonit 1 year ago 29
@igotzfiveonit For years politicians have not dealt with the SS issue because it still had money in the till. But this year because of the economy SS is operating in the red. It is paying out more then it is getting in revenues. It has to be dealt with the time is now. We have to reform SS or raise SS tax to 18% and medicaid to 3% or cut benefits to the baby boomers in half. Even doing that just pushes the date up 7 years before it is bankrupt again. Real reform is needed now.
quizerry 1 year ago
@igotzfiveonit Such big assumptions from a small-minded person. I'm a self-made business man employing 11 full-time employees. I get no help from the government and don't need any. It's called compassion. WWJD? That's my motto. Social security is sound and any problems are fixable if politicians would quit raiding it. Medicare needs work. These programs saved millions of the elderly from poverty in their old age, which used to be the norm.

@HealingHerbalRemedy
Conservative: Wants to teach you how to fish
383mazda 1 year ago
@383mazda Oooh, are we indulging in blanket generalizations? I can come up with one!
Conservative: Wants to remove fishing regulations, resulting in overfishing and pollution by the fishing companies. Fishing stocks decline past the point of replacement, resulting in higher prices for fish and eventually the end of the world's fisheries, and bankruptcies and layoffs in fishing companies. (Google "world's declining fisheries" while we're on the subject.)
Socialist: People continue to eat fish.

@ImTheSecretSquare People continue to eat fish? As I recall, in a socialist society, private companies get in bed with government and you end up with a "China." China is very socialist, and I'm guessing they aren't exactly an environmental standard to look up to.
eifersucht2 1 year ago

Don't try to take the politics out of politics.

I am a big Rand Fan but I am very disappointed that his campaign has stooped to negative attack ads. Just tell us what YOU stand for Rand. Your ideas are great - you do not need to attack your opponent - it makes you look as sleazy as he is. Please clean up the campaign.
