OKok , sorry I don´t say something anymore :D . But I think Meades version is all in all more groovy... you don´t have to play like him, but I think you could.
My point was that posture has nothing to do with the sound that comes out. Anything goes.Look at boogieman69,he sits there as if he would be reading the piano-keys small print, yet he sounds great. And what about jpboogie's left hand-if you think mine is jumpy you haven't seen him yet.
I absolutely agree that Meade's Honky Tonk is the best out there, for obvious reasons. And I could probably copy him more closely, but I have more fun doing it my way - and that's what it's all about, right?
Good observation ! He also was of heavier build, did not wear glasses and was a colored person... On top of that he played a different left hand altogether. As I already said, it's not the most authentic version !
It's G+B--D--C--C--G+B--D--C--C and so on. Slight accent on the D in the 2nd and 6th beat adds to the crossrhythm, which has it's accent on the 3rd and 7th beat.
Sorry, I don't know my own hands: it is G+B--D--A+C--A+C-- etc. then C+E--G--D+F--D+F-- etc.finally A+C--D--D(+1)--D(+1) etc. ( D(+1) means 1 octave higher)
Wow... Stunning! A personal touch, sure, but what a touch! You really do manage to get that steam train rolling. In my view your best video. This is definitely a stellar five star-performance of this boogie woogie!
A little keyboard wizardry.

Nice... but Meade Lux Lewis kept his left hand nearer the keys and didn´t jump with the fingers as strong as you.
Try that!^^
