Ziedler is one of the more wonderful characters in this film. He balances the ideals that allows his establishment to exist, love and lust harbored within his patrons, with the calculating and meticulous nature of business, represented by the relationship with the duke. I think of all the characters we meet, he's the most likable by the end. He proves his dedication, daresay love of the people under his employ and he realizes that people are more important than profits. In two word, he grows.
