@Vampirepsy *tells stories of the old days, when europe was not called europe but.... were..independed countries... i think... just...nevermind..youget the point....
what you mean "Europian"? There are so many types of scythes in Europe, even within each contries there are varieties according to the geographical and "botanical" conditions or the purpose of the scythe. By the way, great videa, and you work nice!
The sneads are not set well. This person's posture looks horrible and painful. Mowing with a scythe and snead shouldn't be that tiring. Some customized adjustments to the rig should fix it. Get a copy of "The Scythe Book". It has it all on the scythe.
There's pain from working the muscles and pain from wrenching on the ligaments in the spine. THe former is all part of physical labor. The latter is very avoidable and serious. Wrenching the lumbur region of the spine can cause ligamnet damage and disk trouble. Back surgery is no joke. I am a carpenter as well and am very careful to make the work enviroment and tools 'fit' correctly. I have an awesome scythe and snath from Marugg company. The tool is set wonderfully.
@AugustusLarch Except, of course, info on the american scythe ;) No wonder nobody uses them, none of them are fitted right for people, and there is a veil over them put in place by the dealers of euro scythes. It's a shame really. Look up Perry Vienot on here, that should establish that the american scythe is a useful tool.

No pain, no muscle gain. Making it as easy as possible doesn't make it better for you in the long run.
