Lizzie walks around and looks at all this magnificent art, those naked male bodies (a rare sight in her world), listening to the landlady ranting about how fantastic Darcy is, she realizes how much she misses and wants and even desires him...

Matthew Macfadyen is by far the best Mr. Darcy, he got it totally right. He gave the character the right amount of pride ( in the beginning) combined with vulnerability and shyness. And you can tell he is definetely falling for Lizzy, Colin firth was alright but he showed no emotion, except anger.

@leechanghwang Long story short, eloping is bad for the family. Ultimately, it gives the rest of the family a bad name. Just like Mrs Bennet said, the rest of the girl would have a repuation of having "a fallen sister." No one would want to enter into a family like that. It's also an economic concern for the family, they'll have to meet whatever demands the husband makes.

I agree, I think the 1995 depiction of Georgiana is much more faithful to the book, where Elizabeth sees immediately on their introduction that she is not proud as dirty love rat Wickham told her, but rather very shy. This movie adaptation is interesting but has really changed the entire feel of the story and characters in my opinion. An enjoyable film in its own right but lacks the essence of the book.

This is really the best version ever of Pride and Prejudice. Jane and Elizabeth are prettier than in the previous version and it all just fits perfectly together. They also act wonderfully. I could watch the film a 100 times!
