@BigCatskillu Hi - sorry - to be clear - I was saying in one session we went through that many batteries in consecutive runs without heat issues - we are using only 2 X 3s lipo (11.1v) or 2 X 2s lipo (7.4v) at a time in the boat.
Has anyone estimated the scale speed of one of these things ex 42mph = 42X5,230 Ft = 219,660 ft per hour Divide that by 3600, which represents number of seconds in an hour. 61.016 feet per second at 42 mph. Now work on the scale of the model ex 1/12th scale. 40.8 inches long, representing a 41 foot racing boat....
Never Mind Multiply 50 x 12 and you get 600, which equals 600MPH scale speed for that freak of engineering...
@8025chris Hi - No - we have two spartans and neither has had any overheating issues at all - the store we bought them at had sold ten of which one had overheating issues which were solved through modifications. We have run through 4 sets of 11.1v lipos and 5 sets of 7.4v lipos in one session with one boat and motor and esc stayed cool. We did have the flex shaft and prop drop out the back - but i'm gonna say user error likely : )
@mikepooter Thanks for the reply, I have one on order and cant wait to run it. I think i might do the cooling mod just to be safe but they look like a blast!! thanks again.
@blind101112 Hi - runs like this out of the box - we added adjustable trim tabs eventually which help keep the nose down a bit when the waters not so flat.
where did you get the batteries from..EXACT SPECS PLEASE
