Great singing and excellent guitar playing. I love JD and this song is one of my favorites..it's great to hear you singing his songs..I hope i can play also some more of his songs here..regards- Kevin
This is Aquinas. Time and again I come and visit your video just to see you playing this song. I just love your picking on this song and you play with such joy and emotion. Hope you will come out with a lesson soon. I am half way through playing "For Baby" and need to speed up a bit. Thanks for giving me the inspiration to play the guitar after 30years. Thank you once again and God Bless you and your family.
Hi Aquinas! Good to hear from you. How are you doing? Thank you so much for the comment and for stopping by. I'm sorry I havn't added any videos in a while as I've been pretty busy. I hope to get back into it soon. That's great that you are progressing with "For Baby". God Bless you and your family as well my friend!
Aquinas here. I was just going to youtube and found you playing this song. I just want to let you know that you play very well and very soothing. I will reply your email and thanks once again for the tabs and the song. God Bless you and your family. Please do a tutorial on this song when you have the time!
Hi Aquinas! Thank you so much my friend. You are very welcome for the tab. I also have another video of song, This Old Guitar. I play the other version a little differently than this more traditional version here. I am also planning on doing a tutorial on this one as well as the others we talked about.
Hello, just wanted to say hi and thank you. I am a finger picker myself but you play a great guitar...I'm a huge fan of John and especially JIm Croce....for sure they are smiling listening to you play.
Hi there. Thanks so much! Yes, fingerpicking is my thing. I'm not much of a flat picker as you can see, as I don't have any flat picking songs posted. Although I may post a video of Rocky Mountain High in the future.
Hi there Cor. Thanks for stopping by and listening. This is really a simple, but beautiful song. You can make it as simple and basic, or as complex as you like. I play it here very basic. I will be putting together an instructional video sometime in the not to distance future. That should help you a great deal.
Very nice man.. You really gave it your own flavour, your voice suits it.. I did this one too. If you want to check it out just click my username or paste: watch?v=dFm4PTNp2Cc
You too have to start your own camera...lol Hey, really nice job, I always liked John Denver but didn't know many songs. Thanks for turning me on to some good music! I will have to download some more! Let's see some James Taylor??? Take care, dave the guitar guy
Yeah Dave. I've been playing for years down in the basement, where my only audience were the spiders, silverfish and whatelse was creeping around, lol! Then I graduated from playing for spiders, and I started playing at a local restaurant. So, yeah, it's just easier to start the camera myself. You need to learn so John Denver, he has some great songs. JD was all I played for several years. Yeah, I'm starting to learn some more James Taylor.
Thanks for the reply, you must have some happy spiders and silverfish down there! I used to live in Col. Springs for a few years, I can see where he got the inspiration. I think God goes to Pikes Peak for vacation! I really love Annies song and like I said I am going to download the ones you did, maybe even learn them. Ya, Fire and Rain I've played for years although I can't pick quite like you or James, but it just wasn't up to par as far as posting for the world to see. Keep up the great tunes
Once again, wonderful and awesome job, my friend!!! What an awesome job you do. I love this song as well as Poems, Prayers, and Promises that you have done. You are truly a talented man in the guitar and in your vocal ability as well. I enjoy listening to you honor John Denver the way you do!! WOW WOW WOW again!!! Excellent job.
Thank you sooo much! You don't know how much your compliments help me. Yes, I try to honor John with every song of his that I do. He was sooo talented, and I can only imitate the talent he had. I also try to play each song just as he did, even if I sometimes have to change the key. Thanks again.
A really nice well sung JD special with lovely guitar picking. Nice tone from your guitar too. What make and model is it? Goes so well with JD songs. Thanks.
Hi Ali, and thanks for the compliments! This guitar is a Vantage Model VW180. I ran across it one day in a music store back in the late 70's. I was not only amazed by it's sound and playability, but it was beautiful as well, so I had to buy it! You may not be able to tell in the video, but it has abalone inlayed around the sound hole and the purfiling (body of the guitar). I love this guitar and will never part with it.
I love this song, good job. Been looking at your other vids, great to see JD's songs get the feeling and spirit put into them that they had when he wrote them. Keep em coming
Thanks! That's one great compliment! I try to communicate the real meaning of the songs that John wrote, and also what they mean to me. His songs are special and really affect me in a way that is hard to explain. Thanks again my friend.
