@SonicFicticious thanks! I didn't take if offensively :) When the Dreamcast first came out, it was a huge competitor to the N64, while the Sega Saturn sat back and watched while it slowly diminished. I might even try porting Sonic Adventure to the Sega Saturn, because the Saturn is very powerful and the Sonic Jam engine is a prototype of Sonic Adventure.

@SonicFicticious I don't exactly know what you mean by "backwards", because the Dreamcast, PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube are all part of the sixth generation console era. I'm porting the PC version, because Dreamcast is very similar to PC -- also might have to borrow from the other consoles.

@SonicFicticious Dreamcast had the best graphics in its era, but was never taken advantage of due to it being killed off in 2001. I've (re)started porting Sonic Heroes to the Dreamcast, and I hope I can put a demo of Seaside Hill onto DCisoZone.

1:22 to 1:35 is the best part IMO.

The distorted snare shuffling, the horror movie-esque "BAD SHIT IS ABOUT TO GO DOWN" rising note in the background, the two orchestra hits every two measures, and the fact that all the visuals seem to say "The very WATER is your enemy" makes that particular thirteen seconds hold a place in my heart that nothing else will ever, EVER take. <3 Nostalgiaaaa.

Seriously, this is what 3d sonic games are meant to be. Edgy editing, Crush 40 before they started to sound like Nickelback, epic settings and awesome boss battles, and a plot that's slightly depressing and has themes of death. Admit it, you cried at the end when Tikal...I won't go any further. If you've seen it you know what I'm talking about.

man, my jaw literally DROPPED when i first saw this intro. christmas of '99 was probably my best one when the parents surprised me with a new dreamcast bundle that had nfl 2k and sonic adventure. it's funny, whenever my friends came over, i made SURE they watched this intro. clearly, sonic adventures 1&2 are the last best sonic games made. i am REALLY hoping they make a part 3. damn i miss my dreamcast...if they don't rerelease these games on psn and xbl, anyone know where i can get a dreamcast?

I loved this game (just a bit less then I liked the second one). Countless bad guys replacing Robotnik has gotten old, but I remember when I first saw that Chaos was gonna be the game's main antagonist, I was ecstatic. In fact, it's where the inspiration for my user name comes from =)

Ah, this game. It's the inverse of every current Sonic game, if you think about it; excellent in the gameplay sense, but wonky animations, a voice cast just getting into each character's "feel", and virtually no attempt at re-syncing the lips for the English script leaves a lot to be desired graphically; the remake helps, but not to the point of declaring it the perfect Sonic game.

That said, I loved the game back when I didn't care about that stuff, and even my dad had fun playing as Big. 5/5!

i still have my first copy as well as the DX perfect for both but i still like coming back and playing lvls like speed highway just becuse i feel SA1 & 2 are still the best sonic games ever made.
