I've always been a big fan of Frank Zappa and Tom Waits, even though their music is quite different. I was very suprised when I found out, they did some shows together in the early seventies. Well, It's all good jazz, I suppose. Both are very original!
I still can't tell how the guitar player from Hot Rats/Chunga/FloEddie became the guitarist of Apostrophe and beyond. Hints were there, but I've never heard anyone else make such a dramatic leap after they were an established name.

I just love Frank.
He may have seemed aloof about his music but I don't think so, he just did it and moved on.
I particularly love this video because he looks positively giddy at
0:15 0:22 and 0:26
when he hears the goofy voice effect.
Remember the goofy voice effect here is 1974, not 2009.
You just have to like Ruth Underwood too.
