@cldr82 how cool is that?? how fun to find yourself.. i was just there for a relative on his grad, so this was my first experience ever witnessing such training, amazing! way to go, i was impressed that's for sure... best wishes to you
These girls are first phase. I can tell by the gold/red guidons and repeating ditties during drill. By 2d phase, they're no longer repeating ditties, and usually go to a red/gold guidon. Anyway, these female Marine recruits are doing pretty damn good with their drill. And I know they became outstanding Marines! And that is due to the dedication and hard work of their Drill Instructors. And I know from personal experience, that a female DI is pure evil compared to a male DI!
hahaha girls in the marines? ooh yeah american marines are more infantry rifle based marines, they accept all sexes. Here its only for guys, but it's to heavy for girls anyways, and ours are elite, little differences
@OnbekendGHC Yes there are females in the marines, but they have to work twice as hard because of sexist pigs like you telling them they cant. They shouldn't have to prove themselves just to serve their country. If women hadn't joined the military, we would all probably be speaking german.
If you want to read a book all about Marine Corps boot camp, check out Train Wreck by Julie Geoghegan. It's full of detailed personal experiences from enlistment to early medical discharge and includes every letter written home. It's not just a good book for future Marine but especially for females worried about boot camp.
I have nothing but respect for Women Marines. I dated a WM when I was serving on active duty. I can assure you that each one of these ladies have way more character and integrity than any man playing in the NFL, or better yet, any stupid coward law enforcement officer, male or female.
@bryanrobertson I'm sorry, how can you consider anyone that works in Law Enforcement of ANY kind a coward? Okay, there may be a few, but seriously? Maybe they're not signing themselves up to several years of being deployed anywhere in the world at a moments notice and being shot at, but the job is still dangerous, we might not have much in the way of gun crime in England but I would not reccomend calling any Police Officer a coward. Their job is just as worthwhile as a Military serviceman/woman.
@jaymeskenin The Iraq Combat Veteran, Scott Olsen, 24, was critically injured on Tuesday night when he was hit in the head with a projectile thrown or shot by law enforcement officers combating protesters trying to re-enter a downtown plaza that had been cleared of an encampment earlier in the day. Mr. Olsen, who served two tours of duty in Iraq as a Marine, suffered a fractured skull. The Oakland police have since promised an investigation, petitions for Police Chief's termination.
@jaymeskenin Rodney Geln King: a police brutality case involving the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) on March 3, 1991. videotaped much of the incident from a distance. The videotaped footage showed LAPD officers repeatedly striking the handcuffed King with their batons while other officers stood by watching, without taking any action to stop the beating. A portion of this footage was aired by news agencies around the world, causing public outrage.
@jaymeskenin some people working in law enforcement gradually develop an attitude or sense of authority over society, particularly under traditional reaction-based policing models; in some cases the police believe that they are above the law. The Blue Code of Silence, which can "sustain an oppositional criminal subculture protecting the interests of police who violate the law" and a "'we-they' perspective in which outsiders are viewed with suspicion or distrust"
@jaymeskenin Martin Lee Anerson was a 14-year-old from Florida who died while incarcerated at a boot camp-style youth detention center. While running track, he stopped and complained of fatigue. The guards coerced him to continue his run, but then he collapsed and died. A surveillance video of the 30-minute of the coercion was made public. Dr. Vern Adams, ruled Martin Anderson’s death was "caused by suffocation due to actions of the guards at the boot camp.
@bryanrobertson Well you've managed a few, I don't doubt there's more. On the other hand... I've seen Military personell do some pretty stupid things in my time. There are bad seeds everywhere, I don't think it's particually fair that you've completely generalised the entire Law Enforcement sector with complete negativity like that. Perhaps my view is biased considering my job, I know the bad ones exist, but like I said, it's not just in Law Enforcement. They're still needed to do the job.
@bryanrobertson I don't have an overbearing familliarity with US Law Enforcement apart from when I lived in ND. As I saw, I never did see anything over the top. In England you're much more likely to see "Wings of Steel" syndrome where an off-duty Police Officer does something bloody stupid and gets his head kicked in for his or her trouble because they were trying to help. These are the people we want to protect and have them protect us, because they are the ones doing it for the right reaons.
@jaymeskenin Ruby Ridge: was the site of a violent confrontation and siege in northern Idaho in 1992. It involved Randy Weaver, the death of Weaver's son Sammy, his wife Vicki. "criminal wrongdoing" against every agency involved in the incident: the FBI, USMS, ATF, and the United States Attorney (USAO) for Idaho. To answer public questions about Ruby Ridge the Senate issued a report calling for reforms to prevent a repeat of Ruby Ridge and restore public confidence in law enforcement.
@jaymeskenin There may be a few? Is that what you are calling it? A few? The general public is fully aware of the ineffective nature of law enforcement to investigate and police themselves. The general public is fully aware of the "Birds of a (law enforcement) feather sticking together syndrome. If there were ANY law enforcement officers with any integrity, intellect, and courage there would not be the "FEW" that you mentioned.
@bryanrobertson Are you honestly saying that the number of bad, corrupt, cowardly and stupid LEO's outnumber the good, well meaning ones? Perhaps where you live, because trust me, I see it completely differently. Where ever I've lived I've not known of a single incident where they've stepped out of line. So, in the grand scheme of things when I saw a few I don't mean "3".
2nd platoons guide was out of sink. They were in 2nd phase why were they still saying diddys. As soon as we ended 1st phase those diddys left our mouths or else. I've seen the girls over there and how dare that woman say that the girls do better than the male. Not being sexist just honest.
It's hammered into us at bootcamp to respect Female Marines, they're training is just as mentally and physically tough for them as it us, the males.
Female Marines are damn tough, just like their male counterparts- I would be happy to serve along side them in combat (even though I don't think that will ever be an actual reality). Oohrah sisters. Semper Fi.
@TheCappiix Are you fuckin retarded? Look up USMC FET (Female Engagement Team). Better yet, since you're already on YouTube, look up female marine and you'll see most interviewees are part of FET.
I'll be 17 next year but I don't know if I want the army or marines. I'd prefer the marines but I have small problems doing pull ups. Any info on how I can prepare for the USMC would help. Thanks

If there was anything I ever wanted to do before I left Parris Island, was to record one of my company's DI's cadences. I could sleep peacefully with those familiar sounds.
Some of my fellow Marine Males were hostile to our female Comrades. Or threatened I should say. Not me for I always admired the women that willingly subjected themselves to Marine Boot Camp. It's a sign of character I tell you. Plus some days just hearing their motivated female voices could get me through the day even if only hearing them in passing for a few moments. I guess it's from being around guys 24-7. Well Semper Fi Female Marines! I would have gone insane in Boot Camp without you!
Is that graduation? or family day? I'm only 14 years old and I want to join but I have been looking at all these video's of the woman di's and I think their a little more scary than the male di's.To tell you the truth I am a little scared now.Is your daughter a marine or something??
Wow it's crazy to see female recruits. Do they do all the same things as the male recruits? I graduated from MCRD SD, we hardly ever saw females. Semper Fi
lucky male recruits at PI got female recruits. The only time we ever saw females was on Visitors Thursday aka P***y Thursday and on Graduation Friday. Anyways best of luck to family members and the female recruits in this video im guessing they graduated recently since this video was post in OCt.
i am so glad you can recognize family in this video, i know the feeeling!!! while we waited for Uncle tommy to graduated we would have be soo happy just to have snippet of a vid to see what he was doing and how he was! so happy you all have "discovered" this tiny vid of mine! .. and my husband was wondering why i was filming recruits i didn't even know! LOL As a female athlete myself -- i was secretly cheering them on! my daughter (2) is infatuated with the whole marine corps scene!
thanks, was just there a couple of weeks ago for my brother in law's grad, was pretty impressed with the whole scene...and was giving all the men i was with a hard time about how the women were just plain better... this was my 1st glimpse of the women marines... loved it all
much better than the guys? lol, till they go the fleet and stay on lightduty and get pregnant to avoide deployments and training
