The problem here is that they were violating the principle that both the man and the woman must be present, plus there were no valid witnesses. Jesus didn't cease the death penalty, it was pretty clear the people here were handling the law in their own hands.

poor women! They've had to suffer through all the history. Today in some islamic countries they do the same thing.

I've never been a true believer (I have too much questions which are ananswered), but this particular episode made me love Jesus. I don't know the truth about him, I don't know wether he is god, or a prophet or if he never was a saint. All I know, is that it took a great wisdom and a noble heart to do what he did.

Only Jesus who is the Lamb of God who is without sin and blameless had the right to judge. All of the rest of us are like Paul who said his righteousness was like filthy rags. My only job is the ministry of reconciliation. We are to reconcile all men to God. Go and make disciples was the only job Jesus gave us. Thank you Father for your mercy!
