  • Umm I'm not quiet the professional but in little over a year I went from 140 to 185 on creatine so Mabey 179 real weight ( I was 177 before low low body fat ) and now that I got all this fat I'm tripping idk how it is to cut and I'm 185 think I'm around Mabey 12 % body fat getting back down to 7 in 3 months ahhh ima be a little guy again I'm scared

  • agree with ilift94 i gained 20lbs of bodyweight in 12weeks and actually dropped 2% bodyfat from eating clean, but eating a lot.

  • i've been bulking for the past 2 and a half years and have gained like 50 pounds and went from 7% BF to 11%. not too bad.

  • Well even if you are eating 150 cals above maintenance thats still bulking lol. Slow bulking vs fast bulking is what you're talking about I assume.

  • loosing 20 pounds of fat can be easy for some people.

and if u wana make sure ur making full muscle gains u gota eat big to get big lol

  • hypocrite:p i dont believe this still u have to eat in excess

  • i'm bulking right now. this guys does not know how to bluk and cut the right way. when you bulk for say 6 months. you then cut for about 4 months and eat alot of protine so you do not lose much muscle mass.

i for would have to eat 6k cals a day to gain 30-40 pound of fat. i really do not have to worry that much. cause i will never eat 6k cals a day

  • awesome advice Dexter Jackson looks the same all year round, Jay and Ronnie are huge after the competition stages.

  • FUCK BULK!

  • clean bulking can actually work.

you eat the things you ate for getting cut, but instead you eat more. NO excuse to eat whatever you see, just to say I am bulking.

  • nice video bro. subscribed =D

  • nice video bro

  • what if you are already fat? is the first step of bulking completed? or you have to still intake more calories? and why do you have to increase your calorie intake?

  • @twosummer Are you fat now with little muscle? If so bulk to add some muscle mass to make cutting easier.

The reason you need to increase your caloric intake is because your body cannot produce more tissue (muscle/fat) on a caloric deficit(cut).

  • @twosummer lol

  • I'm trying to gain some muscle, since I'm pretty skinny, but I don't really want to gain any excess fat as well.. do you think it's a good idea if I just eat like 100- 200 calories over my maintenance? I do weights like 5 times a week

  • @fitnessgoku have about 500 over

  • what beat is that @ the start?

  • I believe the bulking/cutting faze should only be used by massive bodybuilders on the juice. They do this for a living and to gain such massive amounts of muscle you need to be on the juice. Don't waste your time with the bulk/cut thing if your a typical hardgainer. Get your diet right and lift heavy to put on lean muscle.

  • my friend told me to cut for muscle definition . i wanted to know if running one day and lifting the next will help my definition ?

  • i say 500 xtra calories when bulkin

First off lets get some things straight. > > To put on muscle you're going to have to put on some fat. If you want to try and stay lean when your bulking you're going to end up not adding much weight, probably over trained (from lack of calories) and very, very frustrated. YOU CANNOT PUT ON MUSCLE AND LOSE FAT AT THE SAME TIME UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES

  • i say 500 xtra calories when bulkin

  • Do you normally lose a lot of muscle mass when cutting to about 8-9% ?

Im naturally a pretty lean guy but I want to cut a little. I have definition and clear abs but not quite as cut as I want to be. Im 5'10, 168, ~11%

  • Awesome info my man! Training for my first marathon on October 10th then want to go into some cutting/bulking so this vid had some great insight. You got my sub:)

  • ..as i said it took alot of work to find out what my body responded to. After all bodybuilding isn't a team sport-youre in it alone so trust yourself, your body and what IT tels you. Its the open-ended questions that really scare me. "hey man, so how much should i eat?" etc etc. your body will TELL you and the only place you need to look for the answer..is in the mirror. Stay positive guys.

  • as for myself i am trying to gain size (have been for years) i dont even think of cut or shredding. Im a huge fan of a good clean bulk. i took myself from 180lbs-233 over a good number of yrs. I finally found what is right for my body. i don't compete. i have my own goals. i think ppl need to maybe try things out and stop looking for that YT video that "shows" them what to "do"...

  • how would you suggest going about finding out how many calories we need?

  • @95melefante start researching, ballpark range for most people would be 15 x Your body weight, and thats your maintenance calories, depending on your activity level too, so that should be a BALLPARK range. so get that number and juggle the calorie intake up or down depending on how YOUR body reacts.

  • are*

  • people who are scared of bulking a girls, be a man!

  • do you think 1500 cals is to low on a cut diet?

  • @187lickmynuts go about 250-500 calories below your maintenance on a cutting diet. dont starve your body with too much calorie defciency, you'll lose lean mass.

  • i like the video and thanks for the advice. but i wanted to know your thoughts on taking creatine, i've been working out for about a year and a half but i wanted to try it out to see if it can help me out. cheers!

  • But I don't have those abs that I used to have, what you do now is start cutting , for me go back to 1800-2200 calories and maintain muscle, by lifting the same weight and not trying to increase muscle. After 2 months of that I think I or anyone would look fucking perfect. What you think?

  • There just defined , so how can I get big muscle mass? This is why I am going to "CLEAN BULK" by eating probably 2500 or about 2600, going to start next week. Of course my abs will slightly disappear, but thats why the main goal of clean bulk is to eat extra but every food is what I ate to get cut, basically no shit/junk/fastfood , some people gain fat because they give an excuse to eat bad food because they want to "gain muscle". Now lets say after 2 months I am pretty big arms and chest.

  • Well, I think bulk and cut is smart but you have to do it smart. Bulk is perfect because for example, me, I am 10% bf and and have ripped abs from working hard for 2 months and eating real clean. That was cutting I ate 1800-2200 calories average. ( you can figure this out from a daily calorie calculator , put information of your body and how much you workout. Now, I need to bulk here is why, I have perfect abs but my muscles are not as big as I would want them to be. So this is why you do bulk!

  • How do we figure out how much calories our body needs?

  • @xVincentx26 For bulking usually 20 calories per pound of body weight.

  • i bulked for about 4 months and gained 22-25 lbs and ended up getting really bad stretch marks on my chest and biceps. not really worth it. i agree about eating just above what you need and that should be enough. the body is great at storing fat, but bad at losing it.

  • I decided to bulk up about 2 months old. Went from 178 to 190. I believe it was ultimately a mistake, as my abs are now trash with only the top 2 showing. The only benefit was my legs and chest got bigger but I feel much more slower. I do not think I'll bulk again, as it sucks to feel so sluggish and heavy. Anyways, good video. ;o

  • Preaching to the choir bro. Not to trash on the really fat strong guys but I think more people need to watch their calorie intake more. If I do bulk The farthest Ill go is to where I can only see a 4 pack, after that I go right back to cutting. I really don't think its necessary to go and gain 20 pounds in a couple months like some guys do. A lot of todays gym rats don't realize that a natty is only going to put on about 7-13 pounds of actual muscle a year...typically the rest is fat.

  • true, no need to get so big (fat)

  • @barthelfitness

man! I like your videos, F..ck the critics!

  • @ccicc

Kind of a weird thing to say. Simply because you are part of the "critics" on the Scott Hermans videos... Don't be a hypocrite.

  • @ogdefense well what do you say to the 50 pounds i gained in 2months lifting 6 days a week i have the same % body fat as when i started i take protien and jack3d and eat 5500 calories a day of good food

  • interesting mate, i agree bulking too much isnt good, been bulking a few months with mutant mass gainer and eating normal high protein carb diet. looking to cut low carb high protein to maintain muscle. any tips on diet and cardio?

  • ill make a video on it! stay tuned my friend

  • @barthelfitness i'm in the same boat with craig. it'll be awesome if you can post a vid about it, thanks man.
