i'm beginning to educate myself about Islam, Mohammad & the Quran. While respectful & educated debates are extremely helpful, I nonetheless find myself needing to read the original texts (Quran) Islam is based on. If I'm correct, the Quran is Allah's teachings as given to Mohammad (peace be upon him). Aside from the Quran, can anyone please offer me additonal suggestions on other sources of Allah's teachings & assist in my education. I seek only the truth through peaceful means, thank you all.
Having studied both religions in depth i come to the nutshell conclusion that Muhammad misunderstood what Jesus was sent to teach and therefore took it upon himself to become the 'one' that was promised by Jesus to come after him and thus created his own religion based on the crumbly foundation of Christianity and Judaism. Back then people developed and matured earlier than modern people. Jesus talks about him being the way and the truth and he also explicitly says that he is in the father and the father in him!! If this isn't proof enough then I honestly don't know what is?
The trinitarian belief is that God is ONE and three... 'He' has always been one and three and will always be one and three. There is ONE God! The belief that Christians don't pray is misguided: Christians should be in a constant state of prayer with God and we don't work with a timetable... @PeacefulOnly No it doesn't surprise me. It's just a phase that was coined in the early church. The whole nature of the trinitarian God is mentioned throughout the bible. Take Matthew 28:19 where the trinitarian God is explicitly mentioned. In fact, this is one of the most powerful verses for the nature of God, and I'm sorry but the trinity is still monotheistic. Islam has lots of names for Allah, so one can draw a parellel there. One God and three... ONE God!

Exodus 33:23, refers to the BACK of God, not His "back parts", and the reason for this is because no living being can look upon the face of God and live. You are supposed to pray in Jesus' name and say "Amen" But you don't necessarily have to bow your head, or hold your hands together or close your eyes. @Min90Ra Yes ofcourse he didnt/did do some of the things you listed.Though he did drink alcohol(from the wine) but didnt get drunk .Jesus was brought up Jewish, he was following his fathers commandments (YHWH).When he was crucified we were no longer bound by the old testament ritual or dietry laws because they were no longer needed as they were in the time of the israelites, obviously the moral laws remained. i'm beginning to educate myself about Islam, Mohammad & the Quran. While respectful & educated debates are extremely helpful, I nonetheless find myself needing to read the original texts (Quran) Islam is based on. If I'm correct, the Quran is Allah's teachings as given to Mohammad (peace be upon him). Aside from the Quran, can anyone please offer me additonal suggestions on other sources of Allah's teachings & assist in my education. I seek only the truth through peaceful means, thank you all.

Having studied both religions in depth i come to the nutshell conclusion that Muhammad misunderstood what Jesus was sent to teach and therefore took it upon himself to become the 'one' that was promised by Jesus to come after him and thus created his own religion based on the crumbly foundation of Christianity and Judaism. All rituals and ceremonial conducts are pagan, before any of your religions were established (im not part of a religion btw). I believe strongly in Jesus' message thought.

@PeacefulOnly No it doesn't surprise me. It's just a phase that was coined in the early church. The whole nature of the trinitarian God is mentioned throughout the bible. Take Matthew 28:19 where the trinitarian God is explicitly mentioned. In fact, this is one of the most powerful verses for the nature of God, and I'm sorry but the trinity is still monotheistic. Islam has lots of names for Allah, so one can draw a parellel there. One God and three... ONE God!

It does not mean that God is triune.
The Queen of England refers to herself in a royal plural way as "WE" and not "ME" or "I".
If the verse in the Bible was an actual plural,the translators of the Bible would have used the pluarl word "Gods" and not the single word "God".
Also,Deutronomy is in the OT & was written in Hebrew. Ask the Jews about it? They wull laugh at ur ignorance if U say the plural refers to a triune God.

So our occasional hour prayer is longer then your weekly. Christians can pray as much and as long as we want to, also there is church, Bible study, revivals and everything else. Exodus 33:23, refers to the BACK of God, not His "back parts", and the reason for this is because no living being can look upon the face of God and live. @GhostCombatant Ahh i understand you are right and wrong. Yes it does say go to church and pray on Sundays, to keep the Sabbath day holy. You are supposed to pray in Jesus' name and say "Amen" But you don't necessarily have to bow your head, or hold your hands together or close your eyes. It's reccomended and sometimes its preferred at church but it kind of depends on the circumstances, like you can pray while you're driving or while you're walking so you may not be able to bow your head
