i think that this movie is now just to hollywood, and no longer all that true to the story that sir arthur conan doyle wrote. This is all about actin and thrill, and I think that they are ignoring Sir arthur conana doyles charm and just making this into a big blockbuster they can get lots of money from. I personally think that the BBC adaption of Sherlock is far truer to the original stories, and the fact that its modern barely plays an issue.

Just saw a game of shadows. It was pretty good. I liked it apart from perhaps a little too much action. But then I suppose if you want a movie to be successful nowadays you need to pump it full of action. Not everybody would want to see a film of this genera if it's just wordy. But it was good and I'll be getting it on DVD!

This movie was great. The dumbasses that gave it a low score just cant get over the fact that it will never be like Doyles original stories. So? It still has a lot of detective work, just with martial arts mixed in. They transformed him into the Batman of the 1890s, which I see as a good thing.

i mean the recent tintin movie was a bit too americanized with all the action scenes that did not exist or were smaller

I watched this movie, and I give 9.5/10 in movie nothing is forced, all is mixed corectly, bit humor, bit of action, bit of u-need-to-think situations. I reluctantly went to see it but was surprised how much i loved it, its easily one of my favorites and i was looking forward to this one so much and was disappointed. It relied to much on violence and strayed away from the hallmark of the classic holmes stories also my fav tv show house m.d. is based on holmes :)
