It's what I call 'chicken hypnosis' - you see a line and get fixated on it! And yes, I have done this.... down to windscreen height. Takes thirty years to get the licence back, just in case you are thinking of trying it..... these days I only land in fields. I'm amazed the guy kept it straight, these aircraft have a reputation for going left or right, if not in a complete groundloop. Good feet, that man! Shame about the wetware....

This was actually in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The plane is not a SBD Dauntless, it is a training aircraft called the Texan. This plane had to make an emergency landing on Highway 41 in 2007 due to engine problems.
