Good job! But it seems you get off tempo a little in some parts and have to get back with the song, work on that a little ^_^...other than that...great job!!!! :D
nice job, i was actually expecting another shitty drumcover from some randon goober. but job, i think jose uses a zil bell though. what kind of drums?
Seventeen. I took a massive hiatus from sports and music for a while because I broke a few vertebrae though, so I've only just gotten back in to the kit. As soon as I establish a steady job I'll probably improve on the material part, and I jam a few times a week nowadays.
Learn how your hardware operates and experiment. Look at lots of pictures of sets you like and figure out how it's set up. When you do go about setting up and can't get the drum quite where you want it, don't settle, figure out another way. You have to take your time. Whenever I do new setups I spend about 3 to 5 hours on them.
Thanks man! You should check out my newest vid, the Chiodos one, I've gotten a Masters and few toys for it. What Masters are you getting? I have the Studio Birch cause I really coudn't afford the maple ones, but I've come to like birch better cause of how well they project, the kick is nice and punchy, the toms have a very wide tunning range and the snare, oh man, the snare's rimshots will split your skull in two, I'm convinced birch is the best wood for a snare.
hey dude i need a new kit yeah i knowichange my mindalot but i really wanttofind a new one otherthan a reference or masterworks ( to expensive) illgo for amaster though give me someides and i see ok plz and ty ld404
maybe u were trying to keep it down for the neighbours, but when u wanna play it, dont be afraid to really swing ur arms when u're play parts like the chorus, PUT SOME FEELING IN IT, drums r a very emotionally active and even agressive instrument. otherwise well played
love the kit man. How much including the cymbals? I have my schools second kit (it's a pearl too, i love it) right now and i am trying to decide to go with electronic v-drums or a set of pearls. Any tips anyone? Keep it up sounds good :)
Yeah Sessions are great kits. I used to have and ELX (Export Select) and when I upgraded I skiped the Sessions and went right into the Masters I have now :) Not because I don't like Sessions but because I could afford the Masters.
Hey thanks! It totals around $6,000 all together. I would go with Pearl man, can't beat the real thing. You could get a really nice set of them AND mics for less than a set of Roland V-drums.
this is very true. i know we don't all have one of those (me included). Maybe try the bell of the ride w/ a really really and i mean really light china. just use the tip of ur stick to hit the very inside of the cymbal (almost the bell... except for the fact that it's upside-down) i think it sounds pretty cool to replace the z-bell if u dont have one.
I watched your 'my kit' video. I found a 20" paragon crash on ebay...i have money that i was going to spend on a zen mp3 player but....damn i want that crash.
That is the 20" (I know, friggin' huge crash) Paragon Crash. What's so great about that cymbal is that it makes an awesome jazz ride becuase it's big enough to have a good stick definition, it basically has the bell of ride cymbal, and it's crashable (duh, lol). It's a very versitle cymbal, you'll love it as you will any of the Paragon cymbals. My favorite is the 19" china, it pwns.
waaaaay u got the earmuffs!! i love those big things man. n hay nice playin i think it sound beter that u recorded over the ur playin with the incubus song instead of playin along to so the drums do drown out the most of the song good work man
perfect, is overstating. this is a good rendition, but not how jose plays it, the whole intro and verse patterns are done w/ bell hits + hi hats on 2 and 4(closed on inst., loose w/ vocals) w that bass drum pattern goin underneath. otherwise, besides some fills and missed notes in the bridge tom pattern, it sounds good man
I don't like your drum kit :\nice colour though

nice job, i was actually expecting another shitty drumcover from some randon goober. but job, i think jose uses a zil bell though. what kind of drums?
asdithgedf 3 years ago
I don't have a zil bell so I made do with what I had. The drums are Pearl Export Selects and the snare is a Pearl Masters Studio Birch
lildrummer1987 3 years ago
ok, i really like how your snare sounds. i use a pdp 805 series, the standard size, they are bigger drums than the fusion drums they have.
asdithgedf 3 years ago
Thanks! I like those 805 snares, they have a good sound and I love the size and color options they have.
lildrummer1987 3 years ago
yeah i got the standard sized kit with a 6.5x14 all black, its dressed to kill!

Gah, every time I watch a drumming video it reminds me of how much my kit and I suck.
Good work though.

Well you're still young, the gear will come man, don't be rushed into getting top of the line stuff right away.
lildrummer1987 3 years ago
try the Zildijian ZXT's
those things are awsome!
monchisrocks2010 3 years ago
ZXTs are good for the price but they don't even compare to top end cymbals like Paragons.
lildrummer1987 3 years ago
Those Paragons seem deafening :D
Have you thought of redoing this on the BRX?
IPD07 3 years ago
They are, extreamly loud cymbals. I'm even considering getting AAX's for small venues I play. That's a good idea, I might just do that.
lildrummer1987 3 years ago
oh wow your kit is a beauty! how much is that sucker?
kyleg0707 3 years ago
Thanks! Im not sure what that kit was all together, I would guess around $4,000ish. My current kit is a BRX and its up to about $6,000 at the moment.
lildrummer1987 3 years ago
