  • I don't like your drum kit :\nice colour though

  • Good job! But it seems you get off tempo a little in some parts and have to get back with the song, work on that a little ^_^...other than that...great job!!!! :D

  • Great job ! :)

  • good song, great cover.

  • good job man

  • Comment removed

  • Dude, look at the date the video was added, Visions weren't out yet. Those beauts are Export ELX

  • Wow,

You dont even know how idiotic I feel now.

I wish I noticed that earlier

    thanks.

  • No problem man.lol

  • love your set up

  • Fucking sweeet!

    Drummers never looked so cool

  • sic set up

  • Nice kit.

    Tune it.

    :)

    Good job

  • ma salvati và...

  • clean, good work

  • :( where's yar band mates?

  • amazing drum set. i would nut if i played that thing...anyways great job. ur a great drummer and good luck in the future.

btw i think u spelled "vitamin" wrong.

  • Good job bro!!!!!!!.

    Very nice!

  • your kit looks like it'd be a lot of fun to set up :P

    haha

nice drummin though, keep up the good work

  • love your kit mang.

  • nice job, i was actually expecting another shitty drumcover from some randon goober. but job, i think jose uses a zil bell though. what kind of drums?

  • I don't have a zil bell so I made do with what I had. The drums are Pearl Export Selects and the snare is a Pearl Masters Studio Birch

  • ok, i really like how your snare sounds. i use a pdp 805 series, the standard size, they are bigger drums than the fusion drums they have.

  • Thanks! I like those 805 snares, they have a good sound and I love the size and color options they have.

  • yeah i got the standard sized kit with a 6.5x14 all black, its dressed to kill!

  • dude...tune your drums man..

  • what crash are you using for the rithm? a 17" or 18"??

  • I'm using a 20" crash actually

  • Gah, every time I watch a drumming video it reminds me of how much my kit and I suck.

    Good work though.

  • Thanks, how old are you?

  • Seventeen. I took a massive hiatus from sports and music for a while because I broke a few vertebrae though, so I've only just gotten back in to the kit. As soon as I establish a steady job I'll probably improve on the material part, and I jam a few times a week nowadays.

  • Well you're still young, the gear will come man, don't be rushed into getting top of the line stuff right away.

  • try the Zildijian ZXT's

    those things are awsome!

  • ZXTs are good for the price but they don't even compare to top end cymbals like Paragons.

  • Those Paragons seem deafening :D

Have you thought of redoing this on the BRX?

  • They are, extreamly loud cymbals. I'm even considering getting AAX's for small venues I play. That's a good idea, I might just do that.

  • oh wow your kit is a beauty! how much is that sucker?

  • Thanks! Im not sure what that kit was all together, I would guess around $4,000ish. My current kit is a BRX and its up to about $6,000 at the moment.

  • Woah that sounds pretty cool :D

I gotta try that song 2 sounds pretty awesome what style is it ? sounds like trance/elektro/rock ? well it sounds cool defi:D

well gl making more vids im going to see them 4 sure ;D

    peaCe :D

  • It's old school Incubus, my favorite stuff from them and I would classify it as funk-rock or just alternative. Tanks for the comment!

  • good job! five star-ed

  • Thanks!

  • wow nice work

Jose Pasillas would be proud on this performance

are you also able to play Megalomaniac?

    go on like that

  • I'll have to give that one a try

  • it must suck to have to bring that kit places.

    its epic. i respect it

    nice work

  • Thanks! I used not to care but now that I play a lot of shows I do so I use a 4 piece version.

  • This is defin. one of my top 5 favorite Incubus songs///you did a great job darling,,I couldnt help but to get up and rock out with you

  • Hey thanks!

  • what cymbals ar they

  • Sabian Paragon

  • nice kit nice playing nice snare you're cool

  • Thanks!

  • is your set export? nice playing. nice snare

  • Thanks! The kit is an export, the snare is a masters.

  • I love the intro on the hi hats :)

  • Thanks, 'bout time someone appreciated it. It's the best I could do since I didn't have the ice bell.

  • bravo on the drums :)

Just wondering, what headphones do you use???

I've picked up drumming again and am desperately seeking advice on what headphones drummers should use while they play

  • I'm just using in ear headphones with some cheap sound canceling muffs I got from Wal-Mart.

  • any advice to get a good way to set my drums, cause i get pissed when i set up mine and end u h8ing it l8er on lol, cause i like the way u set yours

  • Learn how your hardware operates and experiment. Look at lots of pictures of sets you like and figure out how it's set up. When you do go about setting up and can't get the drum quite where you want it, don't settle, figure out another way. You have to take your time. Whenever I do new setups I spend about 3 to 5 hours on them.

  • lol same, and i end up not being satisfied

o0o and i forgot to say, nice playing

  • Thanks man!

  • you are an awesome drummer

  • Thank you!

  • i agree, nice kit.. i wish i could afford that many cymbals haha

    gotta love incubus too

  • nice kit!

  • Thanks!

  • hey ur set is perfect. i like it cause it the way i set mines up

  • Thanks man!

  • dude i wanna jack off after looking at you sexy drum kit

  • Haha, I've heard that phrase used before. Just as long as you don't literally do it you're cool. Thanks for the complement.

  • Your sabian is a beauty. I thought my Tama was pretty good but i think after watching your video, it's time for a new kit :)

  • Well it's a Pearl Export, but yeah, she was really pretty. My cymbals are made by Sabian, they're the Neil Pert signature series called Paragon.

  • i really hate so say it but

mann, you should work on your technique and really learn the song :S

    keep practicing..thats the key

  • Thanks!

  • i know that my comment has thumbs down but thank you for not insult me xD

i was just trying to help you :)

    you are polite =)

  • There's a difference between giving constructive criticism and insulting someone. I appreciate comments like yours.

  • lol... post a video response juanjamm of you playing the song down...traditional grip and all....

  • awsum dude :D the i luv the sound of ur kit

  • Thanks, I miss it a lot :(

  • wow man i love ur kit

i think a drum kit isnt a real kit unless it is unique to the drummer and ur kit seems to b very unquie to you

all i hav is a shity stagg but its unique to me and im upgrading to a pearl masters

  • Thanks man! You should check out my newest vid, the Chiodos one, I've gotten a Masters and few toys for it. What Masters are you getting? I have the Studio Birch cause I really coudn't afford the maple ones, but I've come to like birch better cause of how well they project, the kick is nice and punchy, the toms have a very wide tunning range and the snare, oh man, the snare's rimshots will split your skull in two, I'm convinced birch is the best wood for a snare.

  • im actually not sure cause i seen a serious pearl double bass and it is just sexual, and its snare would make ya cream ur pants haha

  • cool! 3 floor toms

  • Haha, it's a cool setup.

  • tight kit

    wat cymbals do u use?

  • Thanks, I have the Sabian Paragon Complete Setup

  • tight

    i wish i had those!

  • They're expensive but sooo worth it!

  • nice truly nice man!

  • Thank you!

  • yeah we should do a incubus cover song.

    i love them.

  • Yeah, they're sweet.

  • heck yes... you know the number... give me a text sometime

  • i love the sound of your snare man. what kinda snare is that?

  • Oh man, its a killer snare. I'm convinced Birch is the best wood for snares. It's a Pearl Masters Studio Birch (BRX) 14"x5.5".

  • sick, Im gonna do a certain shade of green when i go home later, you killed vitamin so now I can't do it haha

  • i have a rmv drum too they sound vey cool

    ( i think its a rmv ....) am i right?

  • Yeah, I've of RMV before. They make good drums from what I've read.

  • cool dude, nice drum set lol, my fried would be very jelous lol. But very good job lol

  • Thank you!

  • nice set and nice job, i love ur china

  • Thanks!

  • thats a pretty cool setup with the 3 crashes, never seen that,

    good drummin

  • Thanks!

  • you are really good. how long have you been playing?

  • Thanks, 9 years

  • I've been playing for a little over a year. Are you in a band?

  • Yeah

  • hey dude i need a new kit yeah i knowichange my mindalot but i really wanttofind a new one otherthan a reference or masterworks ( to expensive) illgo for amaster though give me someides and i see ok plz and ty ld404

  • You should try the Vision Series, awesome drums with awesome hardware and finishes.

  • dude i dont know where to get a freakin 14X14 floor ill try to find one though peace out ld404

  • maybe u were trying to keep it down for the neighbours, but when u wanna play it, dont be afraid to really swing ur arms when u're play parts like the chorus, PUT SOME FEELING IN IT, drums r a very emotionally active and even agressive instrument. otherwise well played

  • I do play that way now, thanks!

  • lol watch another music video

  • nice

  • Thanks!

  • purple ^.^ haha love it!

  • I miss it : (

  • Love Pearl, what cymbals do you use? I got a mix of Paiste

  • Its the full set of Sabian Paragon

  • I like ur snare

  • Good ol' Pearl Masters Studio Birch BRX 14"x5.5", sounds best when cranked like in this vid.

  • WONDERFUL. lol as good as jose ;]

  • Thanks but I don't think it's as good as Jose

  • well its pretty close than. u frickin rock!

  • Thanks!

  • HOLY SMOKES! UR ON FIRE! GEEZ IF I WOULDNT OF SEEN IT I WOULD've THOT IT WAS JOSE PASILLAS HIMSELF!

  • That's quite a complement, I don't think I'm anywhere near as good as him but thanks.

  • tht was gd! u play with gd technique!! most people on here don't!! u have lessons anyway lets see sum more pleez!! very gd!

  • Thanks!

  • love the kit man. How much including the cymbals? I have my schools second kit (it's a pearl too, i love it) right now and i am trying to decide to go with electronic v-drums or a set of pearls. Any tips anyone? Keep it up sounds good :)

  • Session's I love them to death.

  • Yeah Sessions are great kits. I used to have and ELX (Export Select) and when I upgraded I skiped the Sessions and went right into the Masters I have now :) Not because I don't like Sessions but because I could afford the Masters.

  • Hey thanks! It totals around $6,000 all together. I would go with Pearl man, can't beat the real thing. You could get a really nice set of them AND mics for less than a set of Roland V-drums.

  • get some mics man that hurts my ears.

  • Sorry about that, cam mics can be harsh with cymbals. Mics are in the works but I need money. I'm pretty much broke from buying my Pearl Masters.

  • i really like this! sounds nice!

  • nice set-pearl exports-good sound, try a song with more drums involved in it than this...

  • I like the originality but jose's sounds way better in the intro w/ the ride bell and the Z-bell on up beats instead of the hats.

  • I would play it that way if I had one, lol.

  • this is very true. i know we don't all have one of those (me included). Maybe try the bell of the ride w/ a really really and i mean really light china. just use the tip of ur stick to hit the very inside of the cymbal (almost the bell... except for the fact that it's upside-down) i think it sounds pretty cool to replace the z-bell if u dont have one.

  • it's wrong....

  • I never said it was right.

  • do you learn this from sheets?

  • close but not as i thought it'd be like "are you in"

  • YOUUUUU SUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKKKKKK

  • Very intellingent remark, but really!.. Very constructive.. Go back to suck your own ****

  • javodisforia, Your mother does for having you. LILdrummer, are great man.

  • Good job, I love your paragons.

  • Hey thanks.

  • I watched your 'my kit' video. I found a 20" paragon crash on ebay...i have money that i was going to spend on a zen mp3 player but....damn i want that crash.

  • I'd get the crash, it'll be worth it.

  • PLEASE!!! what size was the crash you played in the chorus, if it is a crash?,above the ride cymbal. Paragon i take it? But what size is it etc etc

I absolutely love the sound it has.

    Cheers!

  • That is the 20" (I know, friggin' huge crash) Paragon Crash. What's so great about that cymbal is that it makes an awesome jazz ride becuase it's big enough to have a good stick definition, it basically has the bell of ride cymbal, and it's crashable (duh, lol). It's a very versitle cymbal, you'll love it as you will any of the Paragon cymbals. My favorite is the 19" china, it pwns.

  • how much was that kit

  • My export totals in about $3,500 and my new BRX is around $5,000.

  • .. so this is how it sounds when you play heel-up and hit harder.. quite nice ;D.. you're just an awesome drummer !

  • Great, have you thought about change your snare? is a Export series? it sounds like it.

My Kit is a ELX but I change the snare, now I have a SRX, it sounds pretty godd, with 100% maple quality.

    Try it.

  • lol, that's a Pearl Masters Series Studio Birch (BRX) snare drum, it sounds better now, I put better heads on it.

  • waaaaay u got the earmuffs!! i love those big things man. n hay nice playin i think it sound beter that u recorded over the ur playin with the incubus song instead of playin along to so the drums do drown out the most of the song good work man

  • thanks, I agree, it sounds a lot better. I even EQed the drum track to bring out my bass more because the cymbals always drown it out.

  • perfect, is overstating. this is a good rendition, but not how jose plays it, the whole intro and verse patterns are done w/ bell hits + hi hats on 2 and 4(closed on inst., loose w/ vocals) w that bass drum pattern goin underneath. otherwise, besides some fills and missed notes in the bridge tom pattern, it sounds good man

  • thanks, I wasn't trying to play it exactly like Jose, I just having some fun.

  • Sounds awesome and perfect. Thanks for not slaughtering it.

  • yo dude nice

  • the fill was right on. great job!

  • wow the part with the quints, your set sounded like them

  • Yeah, I was really surprised, it sounds so cool too.

  • exspecally when you broght the snare in
