I was really upset by the ending, but it surely the best choice. I was completely burst into tears when I watch the part when Mew (or Tong :S) say thank you at the end of the movie. This remind me of Titanic, a real sad movie.

I hated the ending, i did. But after watching it the second time, i realized that it was a perfect ending between Mew and Tong. It was amazing, and it really captures the reality of asian culture in the controversial topic of homosexuality. This movie, like you, opened my eyes when it comes to love. I really think so...most of the song denotes the feeling of Mew after Tong left for the city and after Tong left him after the concert. Before, he felt empty because he had to live his life without Tong so he started the journey to search for this happiness. A land that he had heard of but did not know if it was real or not (just like he had always loved Tong, but wonder if he is gay or not).

But after he had the chance he realized that love was not for him b/c Tong left. The land he was searching for was just a dream. He walked back in disappointment and realized that he was always going to be sad.

Also, the traveler who told him that the ticket was not for him represented the thai's society. They interfered with his hope and stopped his dream.
