I think the writers admit they made a mistake at casting Hayden as Peters niece. They pretty much admit that they should have found away around that because of the obvious attractiveness of both of them. I heard one writer say they will likely never be able to cast a bf for Claire because everyone will compare that character to peter and likely not be able to be better for her than peter in viewers minds.

You really heard a writer say that?! Wow! Actually, they could've just done for Peter and Claire what Brothers & Sisters did with Justin and Rebecca and unrelated them. Seriously, how can you really think of someone you just met, who saved your life and you had instant chemistry with as a relative, let alone an uncle or a niece? They should've just dumped that whole storyline in season 2 and come up with another bio-dad for Claire; it would've saved them so much trouble!
