I wish things were this easy. I usualy try and fix things for my parents. In all probability they will close the firefox window in order to go to the app that they want to show me :-( Nice try though.

Skype video chat is another handy way of doing similar remote troubleshooting.

@seanslater Yes Skype screen share is so nice for helping others fix their computers

It won't help with "my wireless won't connect" either, but it looks good for when people do have connectivity.
