This is actually a decent game, just wish they would put some more time in to it and make it free to play. They'll make more cash that way, gain more players and everyone wins. Had a lot of potential :-(
Free trial, free to download, $15 per month. It's worth a try at that price. Just get into a guild so you will be able to find groups more easily. This game is harder than most MMO's but grouping makes a huge difference. Every class is designed with grouping in mind and each offers unique benefits.
@westfalkland Probably not in its current state sadly. Just not enough people playing, but try out the trial and see if its worth it to you. I personally love the game.
all these mmorpgs will fail untill they decide to make it so there is no monthly fee but they come out with expansions that are $39.99 and under every know and then to many people play world of warcraft any mmorpg besides aion online has been a good concept but it doesnt take off well vanguard has dropped over 80% of there servers since the realase
Im thinking of comming back to Vanguard. Is the game populated and free of most bugs like the invisible mobs killing you or falling through the ground and the here is a lvl 4 group of mobs but wait take two steps over and your fighting lvl 15 mobs?
wtf there is nothing new here its just the same exact system every mmo has i will play if if acually makes if more skilled player use that just click on skills to use and waiting for the thing to die
@kropkas First off there's a lot more depth to the combat than I can show in a 2:24 min video. Second, every single class has it's own completely different sub-system of combat strategy, which is actually planned for it's own video. And Third, Vanguard has combat that is presented in a classic MMO fashion, but the complexities of group makeup can make every encounter very organic. The mechanics of the game make every moment a dynamic and unique experience that you can't get anywhere else.
@Saieno86 no i mean im sick of that combat style i dont want classes or depth in the skills i can use and its not the only one to have 2 classes i want someone to make an mmo that is open world and rpg but with real skill required for the combat like click and my sword swings and i have to literally doge attacks by blocking or moveing out of the way. im not trying to troll its just there has been absolutly no good inovation in mmorpg combat ever in the 8 years i have been playing them
@kropkas They have, there's many out there. They don't work or last very long because they don't facilitate group play well. You want twitch based MMO? Play Savage 2. It's free and it's awesome.

I have been recommended this game, but I hear the servers are basically dead now, I figure they probably haven't changed much since this video was filmed, are the servers as dead as I was told?
Will, if the ability icons were "ripped from blizzard", then Blizzard "ripped" the icon system from SOE and EQ1. The icon system was around long before EQ1 though.
In the end icon's are "ripped" from windows 3.11 or what? it's icons. small squares with pictures. Not that much you can do with em. But, i was here to watch vanguard and i have to say... Very,, very nice game. have to play it and get in touch with the playerbase so i can find some nice grouping etc.
I WAS going to buy this game, but it is online so fuck it.

I'm not using one, that's the default. You can move everything around easily by going into Layout Mode.
