Delete the file called: Treyarch.bik this video file that is causing most of the lock up apon start ups, worst comes to worst you can reinstall call of duty world at war later on, But this method is helping many people.

Other solutions as i mentioned are making sure all your drivers are up to date, make sure your directx is up to date, and most people who are using service pack #3 (SP3) for Windows XP are not having any trouble at all, most issues are occurring on vista & win xp sp1 & sp2.

Ok in our last Possible black screen fix we were able to get a few more people into the game but not everyone, So we have kept looking around and also trying to force some errors on our PCs without luck tho.. Anyway here are a few more call of duty world at war black screen solutions (they are possible solutions) we are doing our best to help all you people who are unable to get call of duty world at war to start up correctly.

for all who plays cod 5 with black screen. i just got the clue it was (Vertex type2 doesn't have the information used by shader lm_tc0n0_sm3_sco.hlsl in material wc/makin_ceiling_hut_thatched) . and 1 more problem is about console. who can solve the console on cod waw?

The problem is probably the graphics card becuz the new games such as: Fallout 3 Farcry 2 and of course Cod WaW. My solution is Buy a new computer or mod/buy new graphics card. I have updated my driver when HL2 didnt work now it works just fine

fallout 3 and farcry 2 and many other new games do work but i get a black screen if i start WaW

i can play games like, prototype and hawx and fallout 3/facry 2

plz help me...when i open cod 2 it runs fine...but when i go to solo and i select my difficulty i press "start game but nothing happens...also i tried to start it from select mission but nothing happens either...then i switched to online game but when i press "refresh it says that i am not connected to internet...also the "create a class mode is black i cant open it...and when i hit "select online profile this error comes up "Unhandled exception caught..plz someone help me!!!!
