  • Incredible.

  • just found these guys, this is amazing!

  • Epic face at 1:19

  • The part from 0:53 to 1:01, I love how it has that hip hop feel to it. Moreso on the studio version, but it's just begging to be rapped over.

  • Fuck yesss Mellotron

  • Drummer has a beast beard. music was kinda weird. what you dont understand only grabs your attention.

  • an argument on every yiu yiu tube vid

  • i thought the same thing they have a mate of state sound...57 sec in that same keys i have heard from mates of state...

  • Drummer is a beast.

  • i need to get to one of their shows.

  • its kind of "mates of state" ish

  • eh? mates of state why, because there are two of them? you should try listening to the music.

  • no....not because there are two of them........because the sporadic drum beats are reminiscent of them, and of course because its drum and organ rock..........maybe you arent listening to the music closely enough. i dont really see a need to assume that i make that comment without listening to and conisdering both bands

  • mates of state plays "cute" music with poppy drum beats. this is more like jazz with drum fillers filling up every ounce of sound leaving no gaps with melodic rythems and unpredictible changes. in my humble opinion. they are nothing alike. other then the obvious fact that only two members exist in both bands.

  • @firegrrrrl You didn't even remotely make a valid point in that statement. I wouldn't go as far to say they have sporadic drum beats, theyre music is much more rooted in simplistic pop. As previously stated by kidaok00, Pattern Is Movements songs are much more rooted in jazz. Theyre signature changes also dethrone the validity of your statement. Just my opinion though.

  • @youngsunmusic make a valid point for what? its not as if im trying to win some f*cking debate here, or critique their sound, all i said was, "its mates of state ish", and that is my opinion, im not trying to convince you or anyone else, its what i think.

  • these guys look like post-rock lumber jacks.

  • The drummer looks like he's jizzing in his pants as he pauses, momentarily.

    This is interesting music, though.

What genre does this fall under?

  • awesomeness....

  • bonerific....

  • Who cares?

  • Not you...

  • math jazz? aha idk.

  • seriously? that is the most redundant fucking title i've ever heard (and that's saying a lot...)

  • what why do you hate that silly little title I made up so much. Please elaborate to me your feelings.

  • i guess sorry for sounding so angry, just all these obsolete titles created by people pain me to no ends - as if donning something with an "innovative" title is any reflection of the music. anyways, "math-jazz" is redundant as all hell because "math" denotes complex progression and intricate melodies, which is essentially synonymous with jazz.

  • @dontutremble although i do agree with the already present relation between jazz and math, i think math is just being used to give Pattern's style a contemporary sobriquet.

  • Haha still great but I like this version a little less then the recorded version

  • nice!!!

  • wow... these guys are incredible

  • Reminds me of Pere Ubu.

  • the drummer is so in tune with the music. They are just such great musicians.

  • "I just like the sound of your voice" ahahahah mad funny b/c i dont care for the sound of this guys voice. but the music is fucking legit

  • Funny they started as a Christian rap group. The drummer is awesome btw.

  • jesus...you dont like them. thats fine. no use being a douche.

  • your a fool, go leave your shitty comments on bright eyes and kanye west bitch, or learn to appreciate art

  • made me laugh at least even though I disagree strongly

  • I just wish the sound quality were better because this comes no where near doing them justice.

  • thrilling

  • These guys are the shit, without a doubt. They've got balls to do what no one else is doing. kind of reminds me of Gentle Giant.
