  • And the poetic rhythm is way off.

  • I can't stand the voice...

  • this made me sad

  • Well! At least now I can watch the new Lorax movie and know what Im in for! :D

I didnt read this book as a kid.....

  • I never did finish this book when I was little. One the pictures scared me and two.....i couldn't read the first sentence....

  • @sharpaycutie2

because it's the darkest Dr. Seuss tale

  • let's not try to pretend seuss wasn't political in the vast majority of his work. there was even a documentary made about it calle" the political dr. seuss.

  • Yikes. Just when I thought the story could not get any more bleak you come along, read it like Wayne June reciting Lovecraft, add ominous music, and give Once-ler the monstrous voice he deserves. Thank you for putting this together this most welcomed treat. Especially since that sickeningly sweet CGI film adaptation is looming over the horizon.

  • why the freak is it all creepy?

  • Comment removed

  • this really hyped me up for the movie.

I only vaguely recalled this story out of the vast Dr. Seuss collection. It's kind of sad and kind of haunting and I think it's really interesting that Dr. Seuss was clearly thinking about the environment a while before anyone else thought it was going to be a problem.

  • Did you make the music? It's amazing! Very haunting!

  • is this about american politics and capitalism????

  • @ke11yke11z I consider it to be about protecting the environment. it's kind of obvious XD

  • @ke11yke11z no its about protecting the environment from polution

  • Sooo ready for the movie!!

  • This was so great. The music and the way it was read set the mood perfectly for the story!

  • before someone else does it

    *their

    *once-ler though wantsler kinda works.

    (please don't go there correction-izer's)

  • The "unless" part is the dramatization :(

Nice job very interesting. In memory of Dr Seuss

I wish all would watch and cry through there eye,

But the wantslers, it seems that there interest is dry.

Bumble bees, truffler trees and poor old me's

its clear to us now the future will die.

    though still

the most we give is a cheer and a sigh.

  • That was...depressing. </3 I wonder why this used to be my favorite book when I was little...

  • What happens in the end is we really become Once-lers! We "once were" here, but now we're all gone because of the way we lived while we were here. All the "Thneeds" are the "things" we don't really "need" that take away our precious resources. So much to say on the matter. Great video that effects us all "unless".

  • Beautiful.

  • So what happens in the end? D:

  • they showed this n my kindergarten class i still never seen so many confused kids in my life

  • That's... not animated. :(

  • @planetery he never said it was gonna be anim ated only dramatized with reading

  • @000ThatsLife000 Um, it's not "dramatized", either. That would involve acting it out in performance. Perhaps the problem here is that nobody understands ENGLISH anymore.. (the correct words would be "reading" or "recitation").

Besides, the title didn't say that when I posted my comment.

    Anyway, what's it to you?

  • @planetery

I hate to go all "Dictionary” on you, but Webster's definition (if you place such store there) is as follows:

To adapt for dramatic presentation, as in a theater or on television or radio ect.

I don't want to be hateful, or disagree with anyone, but please don't insult me & my grasp of the English language.

I does be speaking it pretty good!

And Planetery is correct; when his first comment was posted the title was "Animated.”

I didn’t want to be misleading, so I changed it.

  • @planetery sorry wasnt trying to be annoying or anything, just wasnt aware that the title didnt say that it was the first time i saw the video, and I thought it was very good so i was just sticking up for the creater of the vid =) sorry if it seemed as if I was geting at you.

  • @000ThatsLife000 No problem. I probably would've removed my original comment if I knew he'd changed the title, but this is the first time I've been back here since then. Anyway, cheers. :)

  • LOVED IT! Thank you so much! I am writing a term paper on Dr. Seuss and needed this story. Well done :)

  • Man, that was deep

  • I enjoyed it very much. If it is not too much trouble, will you please tell me what music tracks you used for this?

  • @peanutfan8 Yeah! The site is "incompetech" (.com) there should be a button that says "Royalty Free Music" .>>The main tracks I used were "Arcadia", "Mind Scrape", "Pale Rider", "Private Reflection", "Rites", and "The North." All you have to do is click the download button and you will receive the songs in Mp3 format, sutable to use in most movie making programs or just to put on your iPod and listen to! Thanks for the positive feedback!

  • What's the title of the background score? I felt like I heard it from somewhere.

  • @peanutfan8

It's just various tracks I put together from a royalty free music site. Thanks for the interest! Hope ya enjoyed the film!

  • I admit, this is pretty cool.

  • We are so tired. Tired of the abuse. Tired of the uncare. Ready for something new. And it begins inside of each of us. Hope springs anew. Thank you.

  • For some reason that this didn't sound like the original books.. Is this the original Book or was there stuff added?

(No offence intended, but I was just wondering)

  • @GameNinja13

I read the words straight from the book :) This is one of Seuss's darker stories and is quite a bit different than most of his other classics, but I didn't add anything to it. Thanks for the interest! Hope you enjoyed the film!

  • @MovificationByChan

Aah, I looked it up, It's darker than I remember.

  • @GameNinja13

And I decided to make the film a tad darker by adding the mysterious and unusual musical score. If you enjoyed "the Lorax" I have several more Dr. Seuss books I have made into animated readings on my channel!

  • @MovificationByChan

    Sweet, you rock!

  • @GameNinja13

    Thanks! Hope you like 'em!
