@auto1660 Thanks! Rob offered to meet us after he read the script (we sent it to him through his manager). We fooled him into thinking we weren't crazy and he decided to take a chance on a no budget, action, short film. He's an awesome guy on every level.
@zthefilm That's so cool. It is nice to know that some actors are real people. I don't mean to be a total fan girl but I love him as Clay on One Tree Hill that's what brought me to your short.
The rap song at the end made me cringe. The only good thing about the film was the female actor, who did a good job handling the clichéd and predictable dialog. Half a star.
This film was horrible. It's like an 11 year old wrote the plot. Viewers can take nothing from this film, including entertainment because no one could care about the character or what's happening. It seems like the director visited the icecream shop, thought it looked cool and decided to write a film that could use the location. The sound was terrible in the shot at 3:10. The dialog on the roof top sounded scripted and unnatural and was obvious the actors had a hard time delivering it.
when i first saw the link to this short it had a description like "my buddy just made this short film, check it out!" and i was expecting it to be total crap but man, that was really good!. . . the writing, the camera work, the editing, the sound, the sfx, it all totally clicked together. . . i was especially stoked to see that the comedy portions were actually quite funny. . . if i were to describe this to someone i'd probably say something like, "it's what that tv show 'chuck' should've been."
@zthefilm it wasn't a friend who sent me the short, it was a link on reddit in the subreddit "WeAreTheFilmMakers", and it had the description "My friend's action comedy short film: Z". . . when the descriptions are like that i normally think it's gonna suck, but this short had enough little things in the beginning to keep my attention (i'd point out what they were but i don't wanna mention any spoilers) until the dialogue kicked in and kept me watching 'til the end. . . again, awesome job!. . .
@neoAlchemist684 Thanks man! We are all big fans of Linus over here. It was made for internet prices - in other words, not much at all. We called in a ton of favors - everyone on the crew worked for free. The bulk of our dough went to locations, permits, and insurance. We shot on the Canon 5D with Panavision lenses.
Great job Linus, I like the contemporary approach that you are taking... and it's nice to see you blossoming as a composer. Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
How'd you get Robert Buckley to be in your film? Nice work!

Great short! It's sort of Chuck meets Covert Affairs meets Dumb and Dumber. And great score, too!

Great audio for the dialogue! (And the rest of the film was superb as well). What mic was used? Any sound tips?
