I believe it had something to do with them thinking the wireless microphones would hurt the ears of the animals that the Humane Society or whomever would bring by every now and then.

I don't think so..I think it's the host's preference. When Bob was hosting, he said that wireless mics break up on stage easily, which is why he has a wired mic. Drew's got a wireless mic because that's HIS preference.

That's right, no one is trying 2 replace Bob. CJBojangles has a very good point. Drew is running the show the way he wants 2. Bob Barker even said that whoever takes over can run the show any way they want 2. I say that Drew is doing a heck of a good job. Even my family says that he's doing a goo job as well. Me & my mother look forward 2 seeing the show everyday.

This season he's been I think making up a lot of "historic moments" and "first time ever" incidents(probably because it's his last season), it certainly wasn't the first time someone got 2 second chances as others have mentioned.
