Actually both the progressive income tax and monetary and banking regulations were promoted by Teddy Roosevelt while he was a republican and later progressive which the Democrats co-opted to win the election. State variants of these things happened under Republicans.

Congress votes on bills and gives them to the president to sign into law, or veto. If the president vetos a bill it is returned to congress and if passed by 2 thirds then it must be signed into law. Why couldn't congress simply declare war, Ron vetos, congress vote 2 thirds for the action and no veto?

Actually both the progressive income tax and monetary and banking regulations were promoted by Teddy Roosevelt while he was a republican and later progressive which the Democrats co-opted to win the election. State variants of these things happened under Republicans.

Congress votes on bills and gives them to the president to sign into law, or veto. If the president vetos a bill it is returned to congress and if passed by 2 thirds then it must be signed into law. Why couldn't congress simply declare war, Ron vetos, congress vote 2 thirds for the action and no veto?

You know man, the more I think of it, the more I become suspicious that Ron Paul is simply a guy, paid to come as a candidate and sell his popular anti war ideals. Think about it, Obama has so far been the president who supports Israel the most, even beating Bush junior. Obama didn't do what people expected, him to do, assuming that Ron Paul gets elected the same might be true. Also the fact that many of the things that he says are not popular will make it very hard for him to get elected in the first place.
