Those doing retail are those who own their own shops, for the most part. The owners are running their own stores. And my background is Federal Government based; if I tried to do retail, someone would invariably end up with a black eye.
I tried to live in Palm Springs. No jobs. Unless you count B*ow Jobs. You need to either be independently wealthy, a bartender, a waiter or a hooker to survive there.
