LOL, Nash even rats himself taking that table bump... Nash (and myself) never really cared that his work was the shits, he was hella entertaining though! THIS put DDP OOOOOVER (and yes, I know he was over before, but not like after this)
I was at this show, in the Superdome in New Orleans. The pop for the diamond cutter was ABSURD!!
But DDP was not a YOUNG heel. Dude started in ring at 34 years old in 1991. He was already 39ish right here. DDP was a lot of things, but YOUNG was not one of them.
Yeah it was great, true WCW fans were in their minds- getting taken over. (This was right around the time the internet started spoiling everything) And they had few heroes to counter the NWO. DDP was getting his pops, even though heel and most people were sure he would join the 'unstoppable force' but instead he gives the NWO a big ' F-U' and both haters and lovers now definitely loved DDP for standing up for the company. Good clip, Good days of wrasslin'.
Ah, remember the WCW glory days like it was yesterday. This was a great moment, great booking. DDP was the over heel, and everyone was turning NWO, and the NWO was invulnerable at this point. Fans went nuts when he hit the Diamond Cutter. I think DDP even managed to beat Syxx and a couple others clean on TV right after this. He was really booked strong, and this made his career.
