His Washington Huskies were the ONLY team in NCAA football in 2008 that finished the season without a single victory. He is a failure regardless of race. It's also a "double standard" to say Weis won the first two years with Ty's players, and not blame "Ty's players" who were juniors and seniors in last year's debacle. Can't have it both ways.

Notre Dame has African-Americans at both offensive and defensive coordinator, making them one of the only teams in Division 1 to hold that distinction. Also, the graduation rate for black players at ND is at the top in the nation. If you really want examples of racism, look at schools like Michigan, USC, and the entire SEC. They bring in black players to play football, enroll them in classes that will not enrich their lives in any way, and then fail to graduate them. This is the real racism.

Hell you mentioned USC and if you knew anything you would know that USC has plenty of black coaches on there staff and try not to comment on the graduation rate of black players at other schools. The defensive coordinator of ND is Corwin Brown, an African American. USC off. coord. Steve Sarkisian - white. Def Coord. Nick Holt - white. USC graduation rate = 55%. Notre Dame graduation rate = 95%. No way 45% of USC players are being drafted to the NFL each year. Reggie Bush, now Mayo, USC is nothing more than a factory.

Unbelievable ignorance. Weis received the contract extension in his first season while leading the Irish to a BCS game. He followed that up with another BCS birth in his second season. Willingham never reached a BCS game. Willingham's teams showed plenty of fight, but they were consistently put in horrible positions by their coach (ex. punting from the 40 yard line against BC). The verdict is still out on Charlie, but the case is closed on Ty. He couldn't win at Stanford, ND, or Washington.

Other facts conveniently ignored include the fact that Ty refused to fire his obviously inept DC, even when the AD ordered him to do so, and the fact that he spent most of his time on the golf course rather than preparing his football team. Ty is an average coach (hos record at Stanford and now UW backs this up) who ran off to an 8-0 record based on smoke and mirrors. He was a lousy recruiter, except in the 1st year which was filled with excitement over him coming in as a black coach.

ND is struggling because Ty recruited bad classes in his last 2 years. He recruited four OL players over those 2 years. Teams should recruit at least 4 OL's every year. A weak OL is why ND is struggling now. Weis had the #5 class in the nation last year and has the #1 class for 2008. Why did ND bring in Corwin Brown as defensive coordinator this season if the program cares about skin color? Ty is just a very average football coach just like Bob Davie was.
