I was a white kid back in late 1973 and bought the 45 single. I thought this song was classic back then, which only goes to show, good music is good music!
@007BMC Listen Mother F*****er i don't have time to deal with you F***ing internet tough guys alright? I am going to go on your page and i bet you won't even have a profile. Youre just some little S***t who feel brave behind your computer. You want to be tough then step outside in the real world.
@Tampa0123456789 I am really fucking sooooooo afraid.Always in the real world,it's just funny to get dumb asses like your self to write back talking shit.Don't have to feel brave i am brave, you're probably one of those little big girls, i don't need a profile i know i struck a nerve, don't talk shit in the first place and i wouldn't have to write shit like that, but fuck u n get a life instead of talking shit..
I ask you, is there a more iconic 70's love anthem? I'd bet all I've ever earned that I've heard this song 200 times in my life, and it just never get's old. Thanks Al Wilson, RIP
song came out when i was 3 yrs old, i still like it lol what i dont understand is why there has been no remake of this song, i think it could be #1 again if some superstar did it-someone who could get on the radio, modern it up a bit, i was watchin time/life soul infomercial ,how do they miss this one, hell it went #1, i had to come here to listen to it
@badhorsee,no remake because someone would just fuck it up,some music was just made to b left alone, who's gonna try to remake it justin bieber, dont think he can sing anyway,he'll b like leaf garrett in a couple of years

what happen people we need to get back to are roots im chicano and were i come from denver colorado we took pride in are familey we need to show these ungsters were we come from switches is the answers ask are parents and grand parents
i was on the east side of Detroit doing the same thing. Too bad we lost that, along with the music we lost our souls. Look at us a hold; so very sad. JZ been called black women bitches for the past 10 years now he has a daughter and says i'm gonna stop. Too little, too late we lost a generation because of that stupid hate filled music.
mr wilson,i couldnt express how much i appreciate your song ,and how you interprete saying those words for the first time.tommi jo i fucked up.i hope u live a long happy life.i will be here, comparing every woman to u.
this type of soul is gone forever from music because black people in music have sold their souls for material wealth, that's why the music sucks I call it McMusic!!..cause it's fast food music no substance this here is that soul food!!..takes me back to watching my mama and her girlfriends play cards all night on the southside of chicago when I was a kid,and this the kind of music they played!!,all while frying some chicken up for us kids!!
@Dipso1985 even hip-hop which is a part of me that's my generation too, used to have soul in it!!....at least it did when I was growing up,before it was mutated into this uber-materialistic,no substance monstrosity you described as "cRap" music!!,it's like anything else though, when money and popularity and corporate interest comes out goes artistic integrity and substance it's not the artists fault alone!!
@stryfetc,all music is gone so r u,when out of things to say use the race card dumbass, there is nothing more to say to u they have music out what do u have,a lot of artist sold their soul's not just black people, and we sold style too slang and a lot of other things that different race are always wanting to die to use,so get off of that shit but ask your mom'ma what she thinks about your opinion,jackass..
LOVE AL WILSON SURLY MISSING HIM AND ALL THE REAL SANGERS. ALSO FOR SOME REASON WHEN I LISTEN TO ANTHONY HAMILTON HIS VOICE TAKES ME BACK TO AL WILSON MR. ANTHONY HAMILTON CAN SANG AS WELL LISTEN TO BOTH VOCAL SOUNDS
Now that's Singing a song!!!! Great Voice, Great song, Great Soul.. This is the sort of music that will be as great in a hundred years as it was the day it was first released.. Fantastic
Mr. Bromley, Do you have to get on here and post words that Gordon Ramsay uses in his Hell's Kitchen Show? Gee, we are trying to set a good example for today's youth and you are setting a bad example. No wonder we are having trouble with today's youth, and them disrespecting us older folk!
I have loved this song from the moment I heard years ago. This song has everything, the beat, the bass, the lyrics and the voice. I wish Al coulda got more songs like this to sing.
Thanks for the post...the best song ever from the 70's. Will miss Al Wilson forever, what a great song. Music of today...just doesn't compare. No real melody, no harmonies...no soul. Love this old Motown stuff, i really do.
First heard this on Malcolm in the middle and searched high and low to find out what it was, SO SEXY and sends shivers through me, can listen to it over and over. WOW
such a sad thing when the world looses a talent like his.. what a great musician.. fab voice.. his singing made the world a prettier place. fabulous song
This song reminds of a broken heart I lived thru in 1973 . I have'nt heard it for almost 40 years and it stills stirs deep emotions in me . I still think of you Cindy
I cant imagine that this generation of kids..will eventually be in a nursing home..booty bouncing to beyonce....I was lucky to have grown up on music like this..pure class.
oh my god the beat to this, this has become one of my favorite songs, this is really something you can just kick back and listen to all day lol, muuuuuch better than today's music which is a joke.
The best song ever!! One person with no life and way toooooo much time to hate. I mean, if you don't like the song, why sign on to listen to it, then, comment. To that one person who still lives in their parents basement and never has kissed a girl...SO SAD!
This is one of the greatest love songs EVER! Pure and simple and heartfelt, almost makes me want to cry everytime I hear it. So sad to hear that Al passed, RIP Al Wilson.
Yes.....this is one of my favorite songs. I grew up listening to Show and Tell, back when my mother use to play this album by Al Wilson. Old school will always be around. Hall of Fame forever. This brings back so many memories. Thank you so much DJ Buddy Love!
Incredibly, the first time I ever heard this song was back in 2000 when I first moved to Los Angeles. For those of you who have never been, you've gotta visit, its an incredible place.
Would love to hear the Eagles cover this number. Glenn Frey lead vocal and that perfect 4 part harmony in place of the 70's Female fluff. They could also work in a killer JW solo. A Detroit kinda thing. Outstanding piece.
I agree lol! This is my all time favorite here...So many memories are held in the span of this 3:25 minute AWESOME hit! I mean who can re-make this great classic! NO ONE CAN! Not even the Eagles! No matter how great they were, all talent is different, so if they couldn't even re-make it, surely no talent today can re-make it either!
I can't remember when I first heard this song, but it was probably around 2000. Ever since, I have loved this song. This is such a great song. There is no doubt how much better the music was back then. Nothing made today sounds as good as this. You also cannot underestimate the contribution black artists have made to popular American music through the years. There are so many fabulous singers from years ago, and the fact that their music is still played today is a testament to their timelessness
I had the distinct pleasure of performing in 2007 on the same show as this great, underrated, under appreciated artist, the Al Wilson. It was fantastic occasion for me cause I had loved this song as a child. His voice was still great and this song will keep his memory alive for all times!
