The use of human shields by Israel, is certainly possible and the BBC report appears convincing. However, it must be pointed out that the use of such tactics can't be a very effective one. No one will argue a car bomb is a precise weapon. Also, the video doesn't show the purpose for the man being there. Was he a human shield? Maybe. We only have eyewitnesses. HAMAS will not settle with any arrangement and all they know is violence and deflecting responsability by finding a scapegoat: First, Israel; Then, FATAH. When they had won a popular vote and had to become "respectable" they regrouped the Islamic Jihad to continue the violence. Instead of power sharing - they were killing FATAH members.

After the elections, they came to realize that they didn't know how to govern and Gaza slipped into failed statehood - which they blamed on Fatah and a civil war broke out. When they defeated Fatah in Gaza - things were really bad and they had nobody to blame but Israel. Now they are hoping to unite with Fatah - so they can go back to terrorism. The IJ is filling in now.

Gaza has no organised army as such so how can anyone expect it to act like one.

i'm an israeli, i served in the idf.
here are a few points with the video that they are showing :
1) the soldier doesn't have insignia, unit tags, or even the words i.d.f. (in hebrew of course) on his uniforms.
2) the video looks like very poor quality, and i have seen all kinds of idf videos on alot of issues from safety to avoiding car accidents.
3) the map is illegible, it looks like a drawing, the hamas have better maps, probably goole earth too.
in short, this "youngturk" is suspect

There is no doubt the Palastinians are the biggest victims in this conflict, but to blame Israel is a mistake.
The Hamas does not care about their own human casualties, and is regularly willing to use human shields.

The use of human shields by Israel, is certainly possible and the BBC report appears convincing. However, it must be pointed out that the use of such tactics can't be a very effective one. No one will argue a car bomb is a precise weapon. Also, the video doesn't show the purpose for the man being there. Was he a human shield? Maybe. We only have eyewitnesses. Could he possibly be being used as a scout? Maybe. Which seems more reasonable given the tactics of the two belligerents? Just saying.
