It's not whowed in mph, it's in KIAS knots speed. You can switch to km/h on the plane hud, and see that it can barely reach 1300 km/h without getting overstressed at low altitudes.

If you go higher, those 700 KIAS turn into more than 1400 km/h, all depends on the altitude you are flying at.

FSX performance is not so much based on GFX power, but CPU power, to get smooth FPS you need at least a mid-range C2D.

@sonicfan7 From what I read Pentium D's are nothing more than 2 Pentium 4's, and I used a Pentium 4 w/ HT @ 3.6GHz, and FSX was a slideshow, if used on default settings, FSX is best with at least a high end Core 2 Duo, or Core 2 Quad close to, or above 3GHz. The higher the resolution you play at, the less performance, as the simulator will have to draw more resources to fill the screen.

@sonicfan7 Graphics card isn't so much a problem in FSX, as it's more based on CPU, but Nvidia cards have been always recommended to my, for Microsoft's Flight Simulators, but a 5570 should do fine.

It runs 64bit windows 7 flawlessly its just my stupid 64mb onboard graphics chip who limit the gameplay with normal scenery complextity and 1.x water effects high. full clouds fill to 4~14FPS and 26FPS high above.

Actually, it looks better on vista, as XP does not support DirectX 10, which is responsible for some nice eye candy like water effetcs, etc.

If it performs better on vista as well depends on the tech specs of the machine. All I can say that FSX runs quite well on my Intel Core2duo 1.8 GHz with 2GB RAM and a Radeon HD 3650 with 1GB DDR3 Memory. Unless you have very complex scenery, I get at least 20 fps.
