  • Dude, not bad actually. but for Chopin's, I recommend you not to use your ear to learn. Well, you can, just to listen, but to practice with, use the music sheet. You can find it in the internet

  • Very good music.

  • I've been staring at that woman's legs in the piano's reflection

  • you are very talented. keep it up!

  • I notice on his channel he has tried to tackle pieces that would be a challenge for a proffesional. When i watch him play these big pieces like this one for example, the same problems keep popping up. He must be mis reading because there are too many wrong notes to count. He could be so much better if he spent less time trying to show off and actually dedicated himself to reading practise and his massively flawed technique. He obviously has talent but just needs to be guided.

  • Beautiful.....you amaze me.

  • Funny how most people commenting know nothing about chopin and this piece. Take a look at the music again. I tried this by ear also and it just doesn't work.

  • @KevinBeethoven Finally someone knows that this isint even Chopin. i dont know who the hell let him play this, was this a recital? All these comments on here are praising him about this. Do they even know what the REAL Scherzo sounds like?

  • @Martel211996 I put up a video response of the scherzo played in synthesia, and maybe then someone will find out that this is kind of a fail. And while no one attempts to do that, everyone thinks this guy is perfect. Haha..

  • @KevinBeethoven Lol at 1:30

  • @Martel211996 Lol i know what you are talking about, in my conservatory a lot of people have studied this scherzo, including myself, and i have to say that this is nothing in comparison to the REAL scherzo, e.g: at the beggining he only plays octaves (LOL at 0:36) in my opinion, he need to improve his dynamic (0:43 , its a terrible hand posture) He will have to relearn it , and to improve that terrible technic.

  • STOP this. AT ONCE. What the hell do you think your doing to such a masterpiece? You leave half the piece out, you play half the notes wrong. Stop!

  • Strange, each time i heard this piece it had a +- 9mins length...I don't play it but a great friend of mine does and I know its length i guess :o Nice played, but lacks technique.

  • and ... ? Where is the rest? I don't thing the piece finishes that way...-__-

  • Hey whats up its me joey. Long time no talk. your videos are getting better. Dude your awesome : )

  • You own that piano store. No joke.

  • Dear Ben, it is most urgent, that you listen to your teacher, if you have one. If you dont, get one, and a good one. At least if you would like to be a classical pianist. You do some nice piano treatment but it has nothing to do with Chopin. I am saying this because you obviously have good talent. Kristian, pianist and piano teacher

  • You're amazing!! Haven't seen your videos in awhile. You've improved tremendously!!

  • I think you should see the score again, because the rythm and even the notes are completly false, but, you are pretty good technically, so i am sure that you'll be able to do a good job...

  • So awesome!!!

    D'VILLERESBRODS

  • Another great performance! keep up the good work! :)

  • dude.. your ridiculously awesome

  • As I see this video has not been without its share of critical remarks from the classical purists who fail to show us skills of there own that are even comparable to Ben's level. Mistakes or not, how many kids do you see at this age that demonstrate this kind of skill, agility and tone? Not many. Give this kid a break and give the credit where it is due. This kid has an amazing talent! I am amazed by this performance - epecially for his age! Great job Ben! God Bless you my friend.

  • @dartanyon77 Agility and Tone? Agility and Tone? Yeah, this guy is good at that because hes missing half of the notesand just playing the melody right. How about this- listen to someone else play this- professional or not- and then listen to this one. You will soon find out- hes not even playing this piece. Some cut up, unlearned version that is a disgrace to the name of this piece.

  • @KevinBeethoven I took your advice and yes, I heard some very impressive performances of this same piece. Nevertheless the intention of my original statement was not to prove that there were "better" performances of this piece, but only to point out rarity of skill in child of this age. The average child of his age wouldn't normally posess the ability to move across the keys the way he does...

  • @KevinBeethoven (continued) He's young and he is still learning...we may never know what may become of him in the years to come. I believe that a person can become so caught up in technicality of a piece of music that the spirit and soul of the music becomes so lost that the resulting sound is very mechanical. It just seems to me there is always someone who is ready to "pounce" and point out the negative qualities in everything. Thank you for your input. Take care and God Bless.

  • An innappropriate interpretation of this piece...I am not saying you do not have a decent skill level (ie you can hit most of the notes), but you need to learn your basics and certainly understand the historical background of this piece. Improvement comes with patience and effort.

  • @WinnerDong couldn't agree more, damn spammer.

  • *thumbs up

    Keep it up!!! ^^

  • Bravo excellent!

  • Seeing that no one seems to notice it (I assume that you all don't know much about piano playing or classical music) I have to say that you should get a teacher now, you certainly have talent but you need a LOT of discipline, you should go back to learn Bach's inventions, Schumann's kinderszenen...

Learn the basics of piano playing, tone production and correct rythm and meter. Another advice I could give it's that you shouldn't play in that bravado style, it's not necessary to play that fast

  • @Gerstroncio or hit the keys that hard. Never sacrifice clarity in your playing by playing too fast, practice very slowly and with separate hands. If you cannot achieve the final speed it doesn't matter, with time you'll do it. Also, you should re-read the score, you have too many wrong notes. You can watch interpetations of this piece by famous pianist in here, it can help a lot, but have in mind that those are their own interpretations, so you shouldn't totally copy their way of playing.

  • Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I can hear the sounds, but I just cannot trust my eyes what I am seeing!!!! O_O

  • Sempre mitico!!! Complimentoni!!!

  • Bravo! Incredible!

  • OMG Ben! Outstanding my friend! Does it get any better? I hope you get to cash in big on your skills... Best of luck! I started playing piano.. : )

You're a genius of the piano, keep it up you have a nice future with music..

  • long time since i commented my friend

hope you are still playin and never stop

  • hi ben may i know what should i practice in order to reach this level of skill? i mean besides playing songs, scales or appregios... thanks for your advice.

  • i don't like your interpretation and there'are too mistakes; i thing you're not ready for this piece...Don't attack me that's just my personal opinion...

  • not an attack here, but a dose of reality..

    consider the age my friend...

    and imagine the future...

be more constructive and point out the mistakes or what could have been better.

factor age and the difficulty of the piece, it is astounding

  • Nowadays it's not a problem of the age(Look around YouTube how many kids and very young people do incredible pieces)I thing if someone decide to study a piece and want to play it Live,he will need to be sure of his preparation. If i see a performance like that i'll thing that the pianist(in this case Ben)has studied that piece only to make people say"My god,he did an incredible difficult piece!"And i'd say"Ye he did,but it'sn't well done"Sorry for the bad english,i hope you hunderstand what i say

  • yeah that's right just look at the hands jumping, sight reading, fingering etc.. it's a very difficult piece even for an adult learner.

  • Fantastico

  • Qué diablos hace :S

  • OMG!

actually, how long have you been learning the piano? And do you have the degree?

  • Beautiful!

  • BEN!!! WOW!!! You are a PROFESSIONAL now! I can't believe how much you have grown up, and your playing has improved 1000%!!! I am so PROUD of you!!!! I love your playing! It's simply AMAZING!

  • When you will be playing something "in memoriam", to remember me, I will surely be listening to you in the otherworld, Chopin said to his friends. A.J. Franchomme, a cellist, proposed his sonata for piano and violoncello. But Chopin didn´t agree and said, better you play some really good music for me, play Mozart.

  • Chopin played his own compositions at a private concert in Paris. When the concert was over and the audience went out on the street, one of them, S. Thalberg, started screaming. What´s the matter, he was asked. I´m sorry, Thalberg said, been listening too much to "piano", now I need something "forte".
