I actually had the honor of driving the 2011 edition of the IS350. I must say that the 3-series has its work cut of for them!!! I've never driven a vehicle that is refined and comforable to drive, but is so aggressive and powerful when tested to the max!!! LEXUS ALL THE WAY!!!!
Amazing car!!! I did my homework trying the BMW 335, MB C300, Infinity G37 and VW Passat CC. I got the Lexus IS 350 after all, $49,200 fully fully loaded.
I did a lot of research and even called mechanics and came to this. I got the IS350! I once leased a 2007 ES350 but there's more power on this IS350. Before deciding back on getting another Lexus I debated on getting a BMW 3 Series or used 5 Series, in the long run their parts and labor costs on any European cars will cost you more compared to a Lexus. The interior itself on a Lexus is much elegant than most European cars.
Don't get me wrong, (we have a Lexus IS 350, 2007) I love Lexus, but absolutely hate the new reverse lights on the 2009 to present IS 250 and 350. It makes the car look to feminine how they wrap around the bottom of the rear running lights. I do love the new front running lights though!
I think I am going to be selling my Is350 pretty soon(was laid-off for 9 months), but I am glad after seeing the last consumer reports that I let my wife talk me into buying the Lexus. I wanted the 335i. The owners of the 335i report "much worse than normal" reliability issues. The recalls are a bit annoying, but it's better than stuff breaking down, and the dealers treat you like a king, come to your house, drop off a loaner, wash it, detail the interior, and return it with a full tank.

For example : A BMW 335i vs a LExus IS 350, the BMW will see the servicing/maintenance about 2 times more than the LEX. As for performance, the BMW is slightly faster, but the Lexus is 100 times more sophisticated and interior kills BM's

@cjrizzle93 you can't go wrong with toyota on reliability, so pre-owned is not a problem. any problems would be associated with the specific vehicle, not the model or brand (like 335i with their hpfp). If you're looking for a commuter vehicle with luxury comfort and gas efficiency, you're on the right track. if you want a more exhilarating ride, go for IS350, which is much more powerful.

God, my dad got this car and he let me drove it. His was lowered a little bit, and he got some sort of sports package for it.
let me just say, it was amazing driving this car. I have a big SUV so driving this was weird but way faster and more luxuries than mine. the only thing my SUV beats my dad's car in is off-roading.
If lexus won't offer this with a manual, they should put an automated dual clutch in. That seems to be the transmission of the future, and it would make it even faster.

@memorex1647 I was considering both these cars too but ended up going with Lexus. I test drove a infinity and it seemed very squeaky and had a lot of rattles (could have just been the one i drove.) I really don't think there is any match comparing the two's build quality. I LOVE my Lexus.If you do decide to go with Lexus, don't let anyone talk you into the is250. The performance of the is350 is INSANE. Lots of guys say(and i believe it) the 0-60 is 4.7..not 5.9 like Lexus says. Very, very quick!

@memorex1647 I don't know where you live but here in New York City we have sooooo many G37's that it become kind of disgusting looking at it, because every block has at list 2 or 3 standing. BMW is a good car but lacks technology and futuristic style where Lexus has everything. IS 350 V6 3.5 DOHC 24 Valves 6 speed manual or Shift Pads ( My favorite ) all wheel drive with ABS traction control etc. I don't know about you but I'm getting this car already next summer White outside and black inside
@memorex1647 All depends on what your looking for. If you are looking for a car more engaging to drive but in return may give you a firmer the G35 will be a good Choice. But if you prefer a smooth and serene ride the lexus may be the way to go. Both may be a bit expensive but trust my it is worth every penny. You get what you pay for? Hoped this helped.

@admichelson I also own IS350 2006, put it on 74500 mileage. I spent only $400 in a year with 15000 mileage such as oil change and few repairing cost. I don't know why u get bill $706 per month. Really strange. :S

0-60 in less than 6 seconds might be the understatement of the century!..Learn how to tap in the code to dissable the tcs. and this car is a monster sleeper. is350 is incredible at a stoplight. Low 13's in a quarter mile is nothing to laugh-at.
@thestrawhead i find it really hard to believe that low 13s are possible from a 305HP sedan. maybe 13.9 or so with tcs disabled. for reference a g37 sedan just makes it below 14 secs with tcs off and 330HP

I use to have a 2005 Lexus LS 430. then I heard about this recall. I freaked and scrapped the car. yeah call me an idiot. But one less death trap on the road. Can you imagine 4'000 pounds of steal and plastic moving at 40 MPH. Then possibly hitting a person or driving off in to a culvert just because of a Failed gas pedal. I'll never buy a damn Japanese car again. American and European.

God, my dad got this car and he let me drove it. His was lowered a little bit, and he got some sort of sports package for it.
let me just say, it was amazing driving this car. I have a big SUV so driving this was weird but way faster and more luxuries than mine. the only thing my SUV beats my dad's car in is off-roading.

@memorex1647 I was considering both these cars too but ended up going with Lexus. I test drove a infinity and it seemed very squeaky and had a lot of rattles (could have just been the one i drove.) I really don't think there is any match comparing the two's build quality. I LOVE my Lexus.If you do decide to go with Lexus, don't let anyone talk you into the is250. The performance of the is350 is INSANE. Lots of guys say(and i believe it) the 0-60 is 4.7..not 5.9 like Lexus says. Very, very quick!

@memorex1647 I don't know where you live but here in New York City we have sooooo many G37's that it become kind of disgusting looking at it, because every block has at list 2 or 3 standing. BMW is a good car but lacks technology and futuristic style where Lexus has everything. IS 350 V6 3.5 DOHC 24 Valves 6 speed manual or Shift Pads ( My favorite ) all wheel drive with ABS traction control etc. I don't know about you but I'm getting this car already next summer White outside and black inside

@memorex1647 All depends on what your looking for. If you are looking for a car more engaging to drive but in return may give you a firmer the G35 will be a good Choice. But if you prefer a smooth and serene ride the lexus may be the way to go. Both may be a bit expensive but trust my it is worth every penny. You get what you pay for? Hoped this helped.

Toyota and Japanese engineering is still king. How many German cars do you see past 100k miles still on the road???? Sure the Bmws and Mercedes make be sportier, sexier and reliable in the short term ( I call them lease cars) but no rational buyer would want buy one of those cars for the long term. I have driven Mercedes, BMW, Audi and they are very good but not reliable past 50k miles ( I might be given too much credit here). Right now I own a Lexus with 90k with no problems

I love the car, but why have cheap-looking wood trim on the interior? Why not use carbon fiber which is relatively cheap(er) to produce now, more environmentally friendly, and over-all more aesthetically pleasing?

@admichelson I also own IS350 2006, put it on 74500 mileage. I spent only $400 in a year with 15000 mileage such as oil change and few repairing cost. I don't know why u get bill $706 per month. Really strange. :S

0-60 in less than 6 seconds might be the understatement of the century!..Learn how to tap in the code to dissable the tcs. and this car is a monster sleeper. is350 is incredible at a stoplight. Low 13's in a quarter mile is nothing to laugh-at.

@thestrawhead i find it really hard to believe that low 13s are possible from a 305HP sedan. maybe 13.9 or so with tcs disabled. for reference a g37 sedan just makes it below 14 secs with tcs off and 330HP

More people are trading in Toyota's for American cars than any other manufacture. even Honda owners. Personally I think people should give Hyundai a try. Even though Hyundai made 2003 least reliable auto manufacture. Ahead of Kia. i think they've changed.

I use to have a 2005 Lexus LS 430. then I heard about this recall. I freaked and scrapped the car. yeah call me an idiot. But one less death trap on the road. Can you imagine 4'000 pounds of steal and plastic moving at 40 MPH. Then possibly hitting a person or driving off in to a culvert just because of a Failed gas pedal. I'll never buy a damn Japanese car again. American and European.

um yeah everyone knew about it . But Ford Reduced that number dramatically . All of F series made before 2004 excluding F1-50. No cars. And it was over a faulty Cruse control wiring. not accelerator pedals. Wow not as bad huh?

Shame on them for blaming the floor mats instead of warning their "valued" customers that their lives are at stake.
