  • @piercethevale Yeah this was a freaking fantastic beer! Ive actually had it on tap about a week ago and it was still great. I swish to get all the aromas and flavors, it really help improves the flavors of the beer so you can taste everything.

  • Great review! I got one a while back, it's cellaring now. I want to drink it so badly but i'm going to have to let this one age. It's good to know that a grade "A" beer awaits when the time is right!

  • @djmx121 Yeah this one is only going to get better with some age. It didnt have a huge hop presence so the malt will really start to pop.

  • Wow, this beer looks and sounds beyond amazing! Great review, very vivid descriptions as usual!

It's ironic, I've got the Sierra Nevada 30 anniversary glass, but I haven't tried any of their special beers (and I probably won't get a chance to).

  • @DenisLD Yah I think the only ones available now are the Barleywine and the Grand Cru. Do you not get SN beers up in CA?

  • @BeerGeekNation Nope, at least there's none in Quebec and Ontario... The only SN beers I've tried were brought from NY.

  • Great review man....it is even better that your a tad bit buzzed. Anyhow I agree that this is a great beer. I had it not to long ago and I also hated that all of the flavors worked so well. As a home brewer I am bewildered at how this one works so well. Anyhow this is a great beer and I glad you enjoyed it!

  • @rlynge HAHA i agree 100%. This was one of those beers where I was like, this is the kind of beer I want to brew but probably never will

  • Nicely done. Not sure I could have reviewed anything when I was that inebriated. Maybe I should try it sometime.

  • @TheEndosymbiosis I wasnt really inebriated just a bit tipsy from a 13% beer before this one.

  • I didn't know what to expect with this one but I liked it a lot. Thought it was smooth drinking and had a nice bit of hops in there as well. A++ beer!

And no, Grand Cru isn't out yet here.

  • @StumpyJoeJr Yah its a very easy to drink barley wine. Ill be curious to taste this one in a year. HAHA keep an eye out for the Grand Cru!!

  • It was hard to find a bottle myself. But one of my regular liquor stores finally got a couple of cases. If you can't get a bottle soon let me know.

  • Stupid Ken and Jack, making it so difficult to remember their names.

It definitely is a balanced beer full of craziness in one. I personally didn't enjoy it too much because it was pretty roasty, and I would prefer more barleywine than stout. Still amazing they made it, and that the booziness is well hidden.

  • I need to try this one. I just had the the grand cru, and it was very good. Love inebriated beer reviews!

  • @25openmind Damn i really need to get ahold of a bottle of the Grand cru. Cant seem to find it anywhere!

  • Hahaha loved how you said Black Barley IPA instead of Black Barley Wine at 1:03. You sounded like you were about to burst out laughing haha! Love how you were tipsy in this review. Still it was a really good review Chris! Cheers!

  • @TheMasterOfHoppets HAHA yeah, this entire week is dedicated to reviews I did a bit tipsy haha.

  • @BeerGeekNation Awesome!

  • this beer started out great but finished a tad weak. I'd love to try a cellared vintage of it in a year or two.
