I wouldn't call this place a city. You could pretty much walk downtown on foot in 15mins. I'd say Greenville is a township. Until city hall decides to ramp up the weak transportation system and allow people outside of downtown easier access and make the airport bigger to invite more businesses and people, Greenville is gonna stay behind. Charlotte, NC knows what they are doing. Now THAT'S a city!
yeah haha the music is a misconception buti live in greenville n it is great the downtown has been re-done and some parts r still being contructed on gang activity is almost 0% and violence levels well as far as downtown u cud let ur kids run off n be comfortable
Not that many people here listen to bluegrass... Greenville's very fun. There's a ton to do. People that say otherwise evidentally don't get out. Downtown Greenville is alright sometimes but it isn't all that and a bag of chips.
MrNiloc, Greenville is an awesome place to live. If you're thinking about the suburbs, check out the Eastside, the Greer area. It is a great place for children and is all around a very nice area with top rated schools as well (Riverside High School). Downtown Greenville is beautiful, one the best kept I've ever been to. The mountains are a short drive away, the beach only hours down I-26. You really can't go wrong in Greenville--one of the South's best kept secrets!
Ohhhh awesome. I've lived here my whole life, and mite stay here when i get out of college, some tips, not much snow, every 2 years maybe. More ice! Great for sledding down steep hills XD oh yeah, 4th of july fireworks downton, gotta go every year!
If you want to pretend to be a so called "intellectually superior" northerner, you might be more convincing if you could spell half as well as a southerner.
hey listen im not bein rude ok? i would absolutley love to visit south carolina ans other southern states!!! i was replying to another person from awhile ago who said the music was stupid and i was pointing out to that person that its blue grass music
hello, y'all. Im seriously looking at moving down here. Tired of this Northeast, Lehizzle Valley bs. I have no job prospects but I'll be fine. Looking for a nice Southern woman 25-43 to marry. WHOO!!
What a nice looking place! What is the music scene like there? Are there many night clubs or bars with live bands of different music styles like rock?
If you're into music, and you come here, go to The Handlebar. You should check it out online. It's a sweet venue, and they host a diverse group of bands. From country to metal.
I was also in Greenville in November of 2007 and we also were lucky enough to get to Paris Mountain St Park while we were there. It's a wonderful place, can't wait to move there!
Um, I don't know what Greenville you live in, but there's TONS to do outside of downtown! Shopping on Woodruff Road, The Mountains, Furman University, Haywood Mall, and much more! Try out the festivals and such romanivan! But downtown itself can't all be done in a day! Great weather all year round, great outdoor atmosphere, great parks, and great people! Voted one of the best cities to relocate or live in in 2008, and also in 2007! Oh, and the bluegrass rocks! I'm loving the southern heritage!
Im talking about Greenville, SC. You pretty much named the activities that I listed. Furman has a great golf course. Shopping at malls is cool if your into shopping and you have $. The attractions in downtown aren't that great in my opinion. Also, the demographics is too sparse for me. I like variety, such as LA. Don't get me wrong, I like Greenville, but I love LA. I think Greenville is a good place to visit, I just would live there. Anyways, take care and god bless the bile belt.
I was raised in Greenville for 25 years ('81 to '05.) I currently reside in LA. When your 18-21, there isn't much to do. When your 21 and up, thats when your able to have fun, if your into the bar scene. Don't even think about clubbing. There is plenty of outdoors activity. Other than downtown main street, there really isn't much to do. Move to Greenville if you like bars, golf, outdoors shit and affordable housing. That sums it up.
Its called bluegrass ya dumnass. You know a traditional Southern music style. Oh hey guess where Greenville is? South Carolina. Yea hmm I think thats in the South.
people in greenville don't usually listen to bluegrass. i lived there for more three years and my family is from there. and i know greenville is NOT that country
I agree, sahdahimbou...i myself haven't really heard 2 much bluegrass around here. i think that greenville is a great "big, little city" and @ riddell94: yes, i agree...there is a lot 2 do in greenville, BESIDES downtown/main street. cuz i hardly ever go downtown, except to go to a club, restaurant, or Falls Park
this music makes greenville seem worse then it is, well its really not that bad if your a mellow person and downtown is nice

Though I like blue grass the music dosn't go with the New South image that Greenville projects.

I hear you man, Greenville is a great place to visit......there is absolutely nothing there to do except hike etc.
And the cost of a decent meal, if you can find one is as much as any major city.
Uncool to the max
