i have a lazy eye, I often get people standing next to the person im looking at asking if im talking to them... If I get high or have a few drinks my "bad" eye just drifts off into its own little world. Ive been totally blind in that eye since birth. I sadly have to admit its prob the thing that hurts my ego the most. I cant even begin to imagine the person id be today if my eye was fine. which is the saddest part because im almost 30 and smart enough to know nothing is wrong with me.
because of my lazy eye, I'm often denied drinks at the pub, way before I'm actually intoxicated in any way...it's quite annoying being "discriminated" like that because of my looks.
I have a lazy eye too, but I can't see out of that eye anyway so it doesn't matter. I've been made fun of a little bit, but it doesn't bother me. It's only people I don't know and, therefore, don't care about, so it's fine. But, the weird thing is, when I close the other eye, it goes back to normal. Wtf is up with that?
@CLMinzyDaraBom becuase some people are afraid to go under the knife ...... the plastic surgery she has basically just injected her full of botox . but when you think of gettin your eye cut open ..its intimidating
I have a lazy eye and strabismus, my pediatric ophthalmologist wouldn't patch my eye after my family said to, now I'm stuck with monocular vision for the rest of my life. I hate it. I've been made fun of for it since elementary school. Next year is my senior year in high school.
i;m 22 and have a lazy eye. Its shit to wear your glasses when your young, and i didnt especially in high school, but people still noticed. So at my age now, because i neglected my eye care, when i go to the pub and have a few drinks it becomes even more noticable. Wearing glasses young will pay off
And for those that are in school and getting bullied, the end of school will come and thats the light at the end of the tunnel, because outside the world of play grounds there are many good people.
im 22 when i was like 11 or 12 i was watching my dad cut grass with a tractor and bush hog, a stick came out and hit me across the face. my face was so bloody that my parents didnt think that i had a wound in my eye, which made them think i didnt have to go to the hospital. a week or so passed and one night my dad saw i had a cloud in my eye. long story short had cataract surgery and the doctors said that untill tecnology was advanced in my area they couldnt do anythingtofixmy eyefromwondering

im 11 and ive been lazy eye since birth. and it gets really annoying i cant control it at all and my mom says i need to get surgery soon. my left eye is almost half way inside of my nose. and sometimes when i stare my lazy eye just goes blank. I pretty much can only see out my right eye. and i wore glasses they didnt help and i wore patches and stopped years ago but wen my mom told me i needed surgery i started looking at some stuff. and im starting to wear em again but i get made fun of a lot2
I have had a lazy eye since birth. I had three surgerys....3 of them...all when I was really young...none worked at all...but yesterday I got my fourth operation and it is still healing of course but the fourth one worked...it seems...knock on wood...If anyone wants a genius doctor to do the operation go to credit valley hospital in missasauga ontario canada...Dr,Budning is an amazing doctor,...i was out of surgery at 2:10pm and had NO pain and no drugs to hide pain its amazing..good luck
I got a question..So I got muscle eye surgery about 2 weeks go, so I'm guessing my eye muscles are still a bit weak right now. So if I wear an eye patch will it help my eye get even more straight?
@254Wacolion I imagine 2 weeks the mucels should be healed...an eye patch might do the trick the whole point of that is, to block off the good eye forcing your bad eye to essentialy work out building the mucel up thus making it stronger wholding the eye in its place...good luck hope it turns out well :]
@frankenstein04 Yea its been a whole month since I've gotten the surgery but my eye still looks lazy. I've been wearing an eye patch every day for 3 hours a day. It's been like 3 weeks since I've been doing this, I've also been doing eye muscle exercises on my bad eye when I'm wearing the patch, but I haven't really seen any results. I hear it takes few moths before one starts to see results. Hopefully I start to see results too in a few months.
i got lazy eye but its barely noticeable i know that its starts in your early ages but i never had it i got it when i was 17 yrs old how can i fix this
just curious, can you guys change witch eye to focus on? for an example, when im reading, on the computer or have do see something thats closer than lets say 1.5 meter (5feet), but when the object i further away from me, i change to the right Eye..
I have mild strabismus, and there are two ways I look at things. When something is nearby I look at it with my right eye. In this "mode" my left eye moves out *very* slightly (no one has ever noticed it, I didn't even become aware of it until the doctor told me) and my right eye is somewhat noticeably turned inwards. When something gets about 1.5 meters away, I look at it with my left eye and the exact opposite happens with both eyes' positions.
Im have a lazy eye, and to read that people who do so to struggles with low selfestime such as my self really help, but you need to remember two things, people look past that, and if they don`t chances are you should not care for them as a person. the second is that even though you feel it isnt fair, it could have been a lot worse.
My GF says she doesn't notice it anymore, she's used to my appearance and focuses more on who I am as a person rather than how I look.
And You are so right, it sucks to have a bad eye but I have a good life, have good parents, have loving friends and family, I'm not blind or deaf, I am not retarded or disabled. Everyone has flaws.
i hope i can fix my lazy eye! my doctor ages ago said keep ur glass's on and cover your stonger eye i never done it! but my brother did and his eyes are perfect! its not fair im started 2day fuck the world and il have perfect stright eyes too
I am now 19 and I read somewhere that it will not work for strabismum in most cases. But let me know if u notice progressive changes. I wish you the best man.
my lazy eye isnt normal though. if you check out my lazy eye video, i have full control of making my lazy eye move back and forth... mines on the right
i have a lazy eye but its not crossed it just my eye lid dont has much muscle in it and its not noticible unless u look up close and yeah i just thot i wuld throw that out for u if he didnt mentioned that possibibility
I will tell you all the way I face this you can keep your eyes together by focusing a close object, of course this shall make you fell dizzy but at least no one will notice your lazy eye
yea thats wat happed to me i was born with it my right eyeisblind but my left is suprisingly power i can read a street sign from 3 blocks 20/45 as my optomotrist says but yea
Hi Drmdk, I have been suffering from Strabismus, you see I have been suffering from this I think from the age of 12, since today now I am 15. I am not considering surgery since its very expensive, I am not considering the patch since its long term and i go to school, so kindly tell me any eye drops that doctors highly recommend. To clarify when I look in the mirror, I can control which eye goes where but one eye still goes straight, again I can control where the eyes move. Sometimes I dont know
hey doc i have (amblyopia)- LAZY-EYE with my left eye is there anyway to fic it or make it better im 14 . my mom didnt really get me help other than glasses . ( which i dont have anymore) so is there any way to sort of fix it or make it so it doesnt stick out as much thanks DOC!
Im not a doc but I have a lazy eye too, Myn however is in the right eye and turns up and to the right...I have had 5 sergurys since i was 8 I am now 18 and they have had no effect...I think my sergury didnt work because I was still growing but now im not so ima try it again...surgery and/ or the patch are the only ways I am aware of fixing this problem
I have a lazy eye myself my right eye goes inwards slightly and it's not as strong as the left. I wish there was some sort of solution. I had surgery when I was an infant so I don't know if it's better than when I was a baby but I wish there was something I could do becuase it has held me back in life sometimes. Especially when it comes to talking to woman.
Nah its not expensive, but most insurance doesn't cover it. Vision Therapy is basically it's eye exercises to strengthen the lazy eye and restore the connection with the brain. I've been on special glasses coupled with patching the good eye to work the bad one for 6 months now and the lazy eye is barely noticeable but just go to an eye doctor that does vision therapy and they'll test you and see what you need.
Hey Doc, I got a question. I was not born with strabismus, however it seems as if my right eye sticks out more than the other one giving it a strange effect. Could this be due to smoking pot? I dont have a problem seeing when im not stoned but . Also in the morning sometimes my right eye gets all watery and annoying and its not neccesarily hard to focus but sometimes hard to focus on something for more than 10-20 seconds, what could this be?
I have a lazy eye and I see doubles a LOT now, I don't think I really did before. It still is the same lazyness as when I was a kid. So I'm thinking of getting surgery to straighten my eyes because I'm very self conscious about how I look and think about my eye every day. So, will surgery make my vision any worse or better? My left eye just wonders a little bit, but the vision is terrible, I can't explain it, I can see everything but not focus on details and read.
I live with Strabismus Amblyopia- And i had surgery when I was 3. I wear glasses, and when I was younger I used a patch. I also usually use big print when I read so I can acually see the words! I don't have any depth perseption either. Thanks so much for posting this video! I do have a "lazy eye" and people call me- "Lazzyyy EEEEDDDDYYYYDDD" And now I can show them what I really live with!
Aside from the vision problems experienced, there's also the insult's, eg: boss-eyed bog-eyes and so forth, speaking from experience, it can and does have a profundly negative pyschological effect, from childhood onwards
yea i got my right eye woundering out and its real weird beause the eye that is streight has perfect vision and my wounder eye about 3 nothes down why is that ?
After the surgery how long will the eye be red? And I have good vision will I still have good vision after surgery? because I want to have the surgery I have lazy eye and it sucks.
I am having surgery this Saturday. I had strabismus surgey twice before. once I was 5 then when I was 10. well 22 years later it came back. This may sound strange but I can't wait to have it. I hate seeing double
I have a rare form of strabismus, Duane's Retraction Syndrome. I also have a lazy eye, independent eyes, and of course the crossing. They used to go in but my latest surgery they now turn out. sewer576, its not that bad, u could be me, I cant see in 3D, but I drive and Im a national speed skating champion(1995). Thanks for the video it helped.
@sewer576 I know what you mean, I had surgery when I was 19 and am now in my 50s and have suffered all my life from this affliction. I never could see 1 thing with both eyes . One eye floated and with prisms it still hasnt helped. People tell me they can't tell, but I can, espclly when tired. I'm tired of this all. don't people know that we suffer? emotionally? from cruelty? my own father made fun of me.. sad isn't it? I am hoping to go to Mayo Clinic to see if something can help now.
