when i was about 8 years old, my older cousin got this game for christmas - he brought his ps with a built in screen and as soon as he left to eat, i picked it up and played it for the rest of the day. I have been looking for the game ever since!! Thank you for giving this review, it really brought me back. Now i'm sure it was this game, and i still haven't forgot it after 11 years :)

I like your review. I had this game when it came out, I actually took a gamble and bought it without reading about it (we had no wiki or gamefaqs in '98) and was surprised, really liked it!

@Maiku2010 Legend of Dragoon has more of a final fantasy feel then this game. Jade Cocoon has quite a unique gameplay style if you get the minion capture and merging down.

well im glad you gave this old gem some much deserved attention but you forgot to mention one of the best parts: when merging minions, the game actually mixes polygons of the 2 minions while taking the second minions texture but still mixing the color scheme of the 2 textures. you gotta admit that is pretty damn awesome which means there is practically INFINITE COMBINATIONS of minions. the minions you find are merely materials or components in that sense.

heh I kidna play this on PC now since I found an emulator sadly Ive got no way to transfer my minions to PC :(

Personally I used a dexdrive to transfer my playstation saves to pc, they should be pretty easy to find on ebay these days. As long as your computer has a serial port of course.

I died or crashed dont remember in like 5-6 when theres 3 gate monsters at one time.

I always wondered what hapenes when you get thro the 3 skeleton like dragons.

Personally I usually use a ps2 or ps1 system to play ps2 games but if I want to use an emulator I will usually go with epsxe.

and PSXeven(only coz legend of dragoon has some issues with the first emulator and you cant get past few points altho the second emu has sound issues and it didnt detect my controler I bought for PC

yeah if you get shin megami tensi nocturne for PS2 you can get monsters in your party and you can fuse em too,i think rthere are some videos on youtube

I ALMOST bought this game a few days ago at a local game store, but I passed on it for a few others. I went back today and it had sold.  Ah well, maybe one day I'll find it somewhere for a good price again. It does look like a good game, I plan on getting it eventually.

Nice game. I remember playing it at the time.

The only drawback in my opinion is the length. The main adventure is very short and the Eternal Corridor could have been better (it's becomes really repetitve after a while and you keep running into the same boss enemies over and over again).

I do agree that the corridor does get repetive. But as you get to some of the later levels of it the boss enemies do get quite hard.

The game is kinda short but I would rather quality over quantity.
