  • didn't amy goodman and democracy now win their law suit against their arrests?

not only are they targeting journalists, since the start of bush's presidency, they now won't let protests any where near the sites. wouldn't it be nice if they'd protect abortion clinics like this?

    see you tampa.

  • The RNC agreed, in writing, to cover (or purchase) 10,000,000 dollars worth of damage and violence to the civil liberties and constitutional rights of the other convention attendees. Wow! now that is a hell of a shopping spree. How is this explained by the parties to the agreement?

  • Does this amount to collusion or conspiracy to violate rights of? At a minimum, it is clearly a confession on the part of the city of St. Paul of its willingness, if not intent, to cross the line and break the law (at the bidding of the RNC) if necessary. And the RNCs willingness to pay for it if necessary (up to ten million dollars)!

  • The existence of this agreement has already been admitted by representatives from the city of St. Paul. The existence of this agreement signals an a priori knowledge and awareness on the part of St. Paul authorities that the intervention strategies and control tactics employed to stifle and suppress demonstrators and unsanctioned news coverage would in all likelihood be construed as illegal by a court of law.

  • WHY did the city of St. Paul REQUIRE an agreement with RNC stipulating that the RNC would reimburse the city of St. Paul for any liabilities and damages stemming from lawsuits concerning the treatment of protesters? (or rather mis-treatment of protesters and media, trammeling of civil liberties and constitutional rights)?

  • So many of these anti amy comments make absolutely no sense. Like as if George Bush writer wrote them.

Must be a bunch of FAUX-Sense-Of-superiority-NEWS Channel fans !

"WE hearts FAUX NEWS" WE Caant think for one minute without that sense of superiority! I wood jest DYE with out my dayly fickses. So many MORANS to speke down at, so little time""

Is shouting insults the limit of your ability when arguing your case?

If thats the best you all can do, then she is going to jail.

    Makes my day!

  • James run along, I think your mom is calling you home for dinner.

  • I gave a time line... can you show me how it is wrong?

  • 4X's she was told "back to the sidewalk"

    :03 he told her.

:04 told her with a finger directly in her face,:08 pushing her, tells her again.

:10 as she resist he tells her one last time.

:12 Cop ask, "can I arrest her?".

:13 "do not arrest me!" That's 9 seconds of telling her to go to the damn sidewalk. Cops were too concerned with doing the job to take the time to treat her as "special".

BTW: Being arrested is a really good reason for your credentials to get pulled.

great site. linked to it by watching DemocracyNow! and Amys interview on NOW. I sit behind a cursor trying to make a difference also.

This whole issue with press being arrested by unidentified officers (no badges, no names, no responsibility) is actually picking up speed in coverage. Still nothing on mainstream media.

We all dO make a difference. Protest! Take back our Country, our rights and our freedom. Once lost, it might be gone forever

  • Look between the lines; listen a little deeper. "It isn't us - it's him, he's SS." It's national NWO directive (who didn't see it coming?) Amy is Good, man.

  • Perfect point! Thank you.

  • Yeah MAN! Look how threatening that 50 year old lady was to them. Man, she needed to keep her distance. I would have been quivering if I were a cop in that situation.

  • great point, trouble is the fundamental directive (action) underneath the police ordering her: Did she have the right to freely assemble? You bring up excellent points.

    tennesseeminutemen d o t us

  • Freely assemble where?

Listen to her at 4:03 she admits it is a "Secure area". Do you think you have the right to freely assemble when the cops have clearly set up a secure area? You can't freely assemble on a freeway, or an Airport runway, or any number of other places.

If you are told get back to the sidewalk, do it. You have no right to demand your questions get answered, or to speak to anyone.

  • James92802

"If you are told get back to the sidewalk, do it. You have no right to demand your questions get answered, or to speak to anyone"

I wish they took your MOTHER and see what you say. "OK. Have her! Fine by me. Do whatever you want with her officer! Officers are always right and neveeeerrr make mistakes." You say, As you run to your designated area to forget you had a mother.

  • My mother taught me respect for the police.

She would have more then told me to stay off the sidewalk.

As for your mother, if she did what Amy Goodman did, hook her up. Not even mothers get to breat the law or resist a cop.

  • You suffer from receptive incoherence?

My point was that if they took your mother, you would GLADLY let them have her without one question.

You should lay off the FAUX feeling of superiority NEWS CHannel nad get some deserved self esteem for a change.

  • Welcome to the Fascist States of Corporations

  • I take it, then, that you voted for Ralph Nader.

  • Just showing up apparently is a problem.

But that's it, showing up is a huge part of participation in this world. If you don't show up, if you don't speak, and conversely if you are not allowed to speak because of a police state then what do we have left in America?

  • Few take action about injustices which affect people other than themselves. This is because the top priority of the SHEEPL is the TV and what is dictated on it. Concern for the plight of other people are low on the priority list, because That is what the TV Shows like FoxNews dictates...bigotry. When the day comes that the "FoxNews" fan suddenly wants to take some action, it will be too late. They will not be able to take action, because taking action is being criminalized at THIS VERY MOMENT

  • I'd love to agree with you and join up 'n all, but I live near a ghetto and I have to contend with being assaulted and oppressed by people you might call the oppressed ones because you're living a fun hippies vs. stormtroopers cartoon adventure. This is the reality on the ground and... "few" bother to take action. Too many middle smart people on this planet - with the best of intentions.

  • We walked our evac route on 8/29 in memory of Katrina victims. About a hundred of us & were holding banners which clearly showed who we were. Walking Together Legally. We had children and elderly with us with us. Suddenly we were watched by police cars-marked and unmarked. IF WE don't surround and watch them at their headquarters with signs & banners reminding them of the constiturion and abuse of authotrity, the Right to voice Will Be Lost, and The mission of war criminals will be accomplished

  • interstitialofficial (if you really live near a ghetto like you say you do, then join with the community organizers and help fix thes things that you fear so much )

  • This was inner city ,.. you are a fraud go watch some more FAUX NEWS.

  • I know, I know, the pain of people living in poor neighborhoods is no fun at all, too much work, too much of a bother, too messy, and if you get involved you are far more likely to get your head bashed in, your family threatened, than if you clash with cops. No one in college thinks the people who chase drug dealers off the block are "neat". No fun us vs. them partisan games. It's more fun and safer to blame rich suburbanites and cops. I don't watch anything that has commercial interruptions.

  • The civil rights and antiwar are joining forces in my state. You can find out if they are joining in yours . If not, go on in and find out how you can help them unite. Some fear taking a position on aspects of each others' issues, but that is when you determine your POINTS OF UNITY.and forget that each side has issues which you have no position on. But the ACTIONS and DEMONSTRATIONS will be EFFECTIVE. Public awareness will be RAISED. THE PEOPLE UNITED will be more impossible for them to ignore.

  • The only inner city community groups that are worth while are the ones that take a trong stand against Rights Abuses.

In my opinion, the community groups who work hand in hand with the mayor's office (like the crime watchers ) Are nothing. They have no ambition to actually improve what really matters to solve problems.

  • Easy to assert.
