  • LTE is not 4G. it is still 3G, which explains why hardware can handle both "3g and 4g", because in actuality, it's "3g and 3g".

4G, or IMT Advanced, is a standard set by ITU, LTE does not satisfy those standards.

  • LTE was I think invented in China. Ever notice how dvd players are region 1, 2, etc.,

and so movies here do not play there? And now the wireless internet is also being

subdivided into regions... "They" do not want "free communication" it would seem...

I suspect organized religion is behind this. The Vatican only want their version of

"Catholicism" taught to say Latin Americans.

  • I think LTE is an encryption-decryption scheme where the algorithms

are hardware based rather than software based. And internet content

is transmitted using this frequency or that frequency. And maybe there

is also a software component involving code compression and decompression

to maximize the amount of data that might be transmitted wirelessly. Hence,

when Clearwire transmits the internet using WiMax or LTE transmitters, it is

at the same 2.5 gHz freq., same media content, but diff. trans.
