His agent was at Paradigm talent agency (360 N. Crescent Drive, BH, CA). The majority of the younger unable-to-act male actors are often chosen b/c they have a look that gay men (who run all the major talent agencies, tho not Paradigm) and studios like (larger lips that look almost female in size).
This is why you see an Ashton Kutcher (who has not made a great deal of $ at the box office) still employed and being able to produce via Katalyst Prods.

Steven Soderberg saw her fight and thats how he found her. the girl probably didnt need very much training at all to fight in this movie. as for the marine thing your probably right but before you make an ass of yourself look up the girl and see why he put her in the movie.
weight classes exist in MMA, UFC, Pride for a reason. Gina is not in the same weight class as a GSP and would lose.

BTW: screenwriters - invoking "she's a Marine. there must be a reason" demonstrates just how little time you've spent around jarheads. Not unlike many persons in the general pop, there are very foolish and not very-lithe-or-athletic or halfway intelligent marines and then there are others. Not all Marines are alike.
@savagegalt For those who know who this WOMAN is she is very convincing, being that she is a professional Muay Thai (champion) & MMA fighter (7-1). & Those facts are the reason this movie even got made. Steven wanted a woman who could believably pull off those fight scenes & Gina Carano is indeed that woman. Inform yourself before insulting someone
