i really love this video. it has all my favorite moments of 10, my favorite doctor.

i like matt smith and karen gillian but i feel like it is almost a different show. when tennant came on, there was still some connections to 9's old life like london and rose. but with 11, the script is different, there are no guest appearances from old characters, and there is a lot more season arc stuff.

I can easily see Smith as the Doctor, just not the same 'the Doctor' as Eccleston and Tennant. 10 feels like a continuation of 9, but 11 is - and had to be, since 10 was so emotionally broken at the time of his regeneration - so different to either of his predecessors, and as you say there are no guest appearances from old character, so... 9 was the Doctor, 10 was the Doctor, 11 is the Doctor, but not the same person as 9 and 10. A much more dramatic change.

@petmyturtle 10 was so camp and fab, with a real exuberance for life that manifested in those bulging eyes and over dramatic delivery of lines. The Doctor is a however-many-centuries old Time Lord; he needs to be over dramatic or else he'll not have fun. It's up to preference, really, but I adore 10 because he was fun and cheeky; a laugh; he was mad, and dramatic, and complex, and lonely, and a lot dark. David Tennant really embodied those aspects of The Doctor.

Sadly, I think David's end was necessary. He was all alone, determined not to take on anymore companions and he was starting to loose himself. He started to break the rules and put the time streem at risk. I think that Time Lords dont just change to live, I think they did it to keep sane. Imagine, living for almost a thousand years, seeing every horrible thing that could possibley happen and then ending up all alone. He had to change in order to preserve himself.

The Doctor is the Doctor you grew up with ...for Daivd Tennant, the Doctor was Peter Davidson..which is why he has some of Tennants traits (see the Children in Time special where they meet. The conversation wasn't between the two Doctor, it was between David as a Fan, and his Doctor.
