@jrcruz74 I just swore in for this job last month and no it didn't require one but some jobs you do might so they put you through the clearance anyway
this is my mos i ship 20100125 to fort jackson. i signed up and then found out they're lookin for uav operators and i thought that would have been really nice too.
Anyone heading into this MOS- say hello to SSG Aird for me! Haha. HATED that guy in AIT. "Soldiers- you are NOT soldiers until you are soldiers, soldiers. I am from the Virgin Islands, and that makes me a better soldier than you, soldiers" etc, etc, etc. Six hour formations were common. That said, best MOS in the Army. Better than working on a Lawndart, or a Crashhawk, right?
lmao big ass gloves and goggles.....like we rly use that shit. pick this MoS if you like working long hours in the field performing CCI's and phases when your not standing around
Don't know if you are in yet, but I did this job and it rocks. If you are good enough, you will be made Crew Chief and you can fly around and you will DEFINITELY see action, if that's your thing. Been there done that, its not for the timid- but you'll come away with some exiting stories and fun times. However, the Chinook carries lots of people and is used extensively, making it a prime target. I lost five friends, so it's a very risky job. Good luck.
Yes, I have a couple friends that have become pilots. But really, you can take any army job and apply for Warrant. This will definitely give you a step up on the competition when it comes to picking which helicopter you fly after your schooling is done. If you want the fastest, most powerful, reliable helicopter in the Army, pick Chinook!
@pred10124 Luck of the draw. Show up to your unit looking squared away. Don't be a shit bag. Ask questions. You want to be noticed by the flight company as a hard worker, and willing to learn and perform. Crewing ain't easy. Don't expect to be home much.
@pred10124 it isnt based on skill anymore because of the way units are set up, it's more luck as to which company you get put in but you can always put in for transfer to a flight company
@trevorthemonkeey not unless you choose a helicopter repair job. There is repair jobs for anything you can think of like watercrafts and regular vehicles
anyone going to ait for this say hi to ssg Sniff for me. Also great job really like it
