  • I'm going to avoid this one. I hate that guy's art style.[Black Jack]

    I DEFINITELY hate Shoujo.

Sounds like a 3/5 to be honest.

Timeless anime impresses with the scenario not the technicals[Mobile Suit Gundam].

And your femist segment made me want to see GitS Season 3(where The Major secures the female presidency, or tries to anyway, against an entrenched, misogynistic and treacherous Old Guard)

    A guy can dream.

  • Oh sure take your time ;). I was just wondering. Thanks for answering the questions. Can't wait to hear other reviews you got down the pipeline as well.

  • I thought The Rose of Versailles was more about the relationship between Oscar and Andre. Or maybe thats just the musical.

  • ehh, nice review but this is a little too fantasy and old for my taste.

  • That's so cool that you have a bunch of anime lazerdiscs. I did not even know they existed until last year.

  • I love the historcal events of this anime, however the animation is dated and I really don't like the "roses and sparkles" But the characters and how they develope is just really great.

Also im guessing this is the video in which you tried different camera shots for the same review.

  • You'd get more traffic if you put the title of the review subject in the tags at the least.

  • good review. i was wanting to review this before my "retirement," but could never get around to do it. right now i'm watching a drama about this girl who is obsessed with rose of versailles. it's still pretty popular in japan even after all these years

  • Great review. I always wondered what this show was about, and if it was really good or not. You summed it up quite well, and did a really nice job explaining some things. Oh and I have a few questions if you don't mind me asking. Why did you remove your Hell Girl review? I would have liked to hear what you had to say about that show. Also any plans to review either Haibane Renmei , or Now and Then Here and There? I would love to hear what you have to say about them. Thanks in advance!

  • Luckily this is one of the classics that actually got fully fan subbed. Now if only Ashita no Joe was as lucky.

  • SPOILER ALERT!!! :P

  • I see your water spout over your shoulder...

  • That's because Gramps left his full-body still-suit at the seitch. Riding Sandworms isn't any easier in Arizona than it is in Arrakis!

This sounds like a show I'd like, but I wonder how the French took it? To my understanding, Marie Antoinette was always a controversial figure in French history; her positive outlook in RoV must have ruffled a few bonnets...

    Thanks for the review, Gramps!

  • Not sure what the french think, but I always viewed both Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI as quite tragic figures in history. They were tossed into a world far beyond either of them, where many problems where out of their reach and control. Many of the problems of France that caused the revalution in the first place were because of what happened before Louis XVI even took the throne The decsions other kings made before him was his downfall. Also neither could understand fully the world around them

  • Spoiled brats who were chucked into a political blender.

They got blended. And rightly so. "Let them eat cake." That is one of the most aloof, chilling, and callous things I have ever heard.

And it was so subtle for her cake had icing. "Cake" for everyone else was the burned, blackened dough buildup on the inside of empty ovens...someone who was more repugnant than Paris Hilton[pun? irony?].

As history should be concerned, she signed her death warrant with inaction AND injury to the Wounded.

  • I'm pretty sure she never really said "Let them eat cake." That's a myth. She actually sold some of her private jewelry IIRC to help the poor in Paris. So she's not some selfish little brat. She's painted as very uncareing but IMO she just didn't comprehend what was going on. But then again most nobels didn't comprehend it.

  • The situation did not happen overnight, the people had shortages for years. A revolution of that intensity, does not happen from rudeness, it comes from aggravation after aggravation.

    The tulip gardens.

That's where they should have buried them. But they probably ate the bulbs.
