@veget0010 yeah i have heard alot of newer metal bands, but most of the best just never seem to get beyond the mediocre level. There are some modern metal bands i like but they seem kind of bland, like they have one or two good songs on one album and thats it, no staying power. Compared to 70s and 80s bands. I have listened to albums like screaming for vengeance, rust in peace, show no mercy, holy diver many times through and it never gets old. I can't say that about any modern albums.
@ArchangelNesbitt After hearing those bands I can definitely say modern metal gets old. 2 of those bands aren't even modern metal. The rack by asphyx comes from an era when metal was still for the most part good. Unfortunately that band sounds exactly like the band death, especially the album leprosy, but with slight doom metal influences. The bands do have some cool riffs and other things but I couldn't see myself listening to them more than a few times.
@ZeGermanSVEN I suggest you listen to Queens of the Stone Age. It's not metal like this, but I think you will enjoy them. Start with the older albums and work your way up to completely enveloping yourself in them. Singer guitarist was the guitarist for Kyuss.
@TaffyRaphie I do like queens of the stone age. That band is good with some solid riffs and the lead singer/guitarist Josh Homme is a legit musician. I also like Kyuss because I am now starting to get into stoner metal
