  • I've been searching for a fix for this for months. Thanks for the great info. Really useful!

  • Good god, you saved me..... I love you, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE HELP!!!

  • 1/2

I wonder what your exact Sony Vegas settings are, Project Properties/template, track options and render options.

I'm trying to render crystal clear pixel perfect videos in full HD 1080p or 720p.

So far I've seen 3 videos on Youtube that impressed me in the amazing sharpness, I want it to be as clear as looking at your monitor regularly, perfect sharpness.

The first video is in HQ rendered in Camtasia, you must watch it in 480p and expand/enlarged window, not full screen or standard.

  • 2/2, it didn't fit into 1 comment

As I said, 480p and expand window for it to work:

    test HD sharpness on Camtasia 852 x 480 size 15 MB1411kbps KMP

Next one is this, also rendered in Camtasia but 720p, the only best way I know is to download the video in 720p, I use Video Cache View all the time to check quality or to just download vids to have on my computer

Camtasia Studio - The Best HD Settings!

And the last video is this one, impressive quality, what's your settings or do you know better?

  • This is working.

Just one downside: before this, I used the regular codec and my 2 min long video was about 50mb (and great quality) but now, my 1 min video is 500mb :D

+ recording now requires MUCH more from the computer.

But those things don't bother me. My computer can still record easily and I only wanted to edit the file in Vegas and now it works. Thanks.

  • I can't thank you enough. I suppose I'll give you a thumbs up tho ^_^

  • Whenever i click options on my camtasia recorder it just says camtasia recorder has stopped working? help?

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I have W7 Ultimate 64bit and was having trouble getting my Sony Vegas to allow use of the video files. This codec fixed the problem instantly. Thank you so much!

  • THNX!!

  • ahhhm got question here what kind of mic did you use for this video? just wanna know... coz I'm also particular with those things. later.

  • thanks so much. your a life saver =)

  • 2minute video takes me after new codec 1,2 GB

and when i am putting it in sony vegas it close it or it doesnt work anymore plss help me

  • ahhh i done it now thanks for the help !!!

  • THANKS SO MUCH :'D IVE BEEN LOOKING MONTHS FOR THIS :[]

  • hi dude nice tutorial (loved it :) )

anyway my camtasia dont record the sound any tips? :)

  • How do i put a clip I recorded with Camtasia recorder into the Sony vegas program, I can't find the file in my documents when i wanna add the clip in sony vegas.

    Please help?

  • Heres my problem ive already recorded about 40 clips with the old codec and I want to use them but I cant is there any way I can convert the codec? P.S. the new codec works perfectly(Microsoft 1) thanks.

  • @oisin0eire

Yeah - I have this same question? Is there a way to convert videos recorded with the 32-bit codec to use a 64-bit codec? I'm guessing Handbrake, Quicktime Pro or something else would work. I've tried Handbrake without much luck.

  • @jars99 I found out how, you need to import all your clips into camtasia studio and publish with new rendering settings as a 64-bit codec... This worked although the quality was dreadful but I'm sure with a bit of tweaking I can find a way to get it looking good...

  • Great video. Very informative and it fixed my problem. Thank you.

  • Wow this codec works perfectly.

    Thanks a bunch dude.

  • thanks a lot man, u are my hero of today

  • Thank you so much iv been searching for weeks to find out how to do this

  • does the tech smith codec record at any higher quality?

  • @tigerag29607 I can see no visible quality difference between the two codecs.

  • Tchinformer:

is this for camtasia studio 6?

in my screen recorder, it doesn't have the options that yours has.

    i am using camtasia 7.0.

please respond, i really need to be able to use my vegas.

  • @AgileProductions I'm using Camtasia Studio 7, so it should be the same version as you are running. You may want to watch the video again, and make sure that you haven't missed anything.

  • @tchinformer hmm, i did.

the camtasia i have, doesn't have the same options. but, on my other computer i have camtasia 6, and it looks just like that.

  • @tchinformer I got the same problem :S

  • @AgileProductions instead you go to input to change the codec

  • @AgileProductions you have to go to record, and there is the option

  • @AgileProductions i had the same problem to do this

go to Tools, Options, Click on the inputs tab and then click on video setting, click the drop down arrow then click on Lagarith Lossless Codec then click OK.

  • when I install that codec thing it doesn't appear in my options for camtasia.. help?

  • OMG thank you SOOOOOOO MUCH! was wondering why mine didn't work, because of the freakin window vista&stuff.Anywayz thanks again!:D

  • @RichVids777 The 64 bit edition of Sony Vegas allows you to address more than 4GB of RAM, and will also work more efficiently on a 64-bit operating system.

  • Thanks man only vid out there for this tbh :).

  • thank you SO much i've been dealing with this issue for quite some time and finally someone who knows what they are doing :) cheers! thanks for the help!

  • @ImYourDemise Thanks for the feedback.

  • YES!! thank you! you have no idea how long I've had a problem with this and have been searching for an answer. I've looked everywhere and got not where. Thank you so much

  • @TheBen4151 Happy to help :)

  • @RichVids777: in simple terms, 64-bit technology results in the program working more efficiently due to being able to get twice as much grunt power out of the CPU, and also being able to use as much RAM as you have in your system (rather than being limited to just 4GB).
