As for the game, not only is the art perfect for the game, but the music is just superb. While HoMM is an orchestra, this one induces more beauty and fantasy at the same time. For the gameplay, it does require some patience if you want to coordinate your troops. The only difficulty comes from other heroes, it's there that you have to make your moves very carefully.
This one is worth your time, but you might want to give it a try on Easy because harder difficulties require top notch tactics!

Just look at how HoMM3 is rendered - everything is realistic and convincing. And those 2D sprites are made from 3D renders, so the question is, why don't people create realistic ones like that these days, if it was possible a decade ago?
I totally agree with you GreatEmerald1, same thing happened to MMORPGs, they rendered Ultima Online so artistically (in the beginning, not amymore with stupid patchs with '3d'), and now people are creating childish graphics with 3D... I dont know why this is happening, I can only guess that consumer average age is getting low is why.

The thing about making realistic looking 3D graphics is that it tends to look really bad a year or two later when better graphics come out.
The same can obviously be said for childish cartoony graphics too but the thing is they age better by far. Blizzard did a good job with it's style on Warcraft 3 and World of Warcraft because years later it still looks okay but compare that to serious looking MMO's around the time (Conan excluded) and you'll see what I mean. Simple design ages better.
Heroes of Might and Magic series was based on and adapted by the original Kings Bounty. This game looks awesome and has elements of both the Might and Magic series and the Heroes of Might and Magic series.
@themagus187 It's 200% addictive. And I managed to buy it with 3$ on a sale from G*** : ))) I'm obsessed with it ever since. The weird part is that I'm not a gamer, but many many years ago I was a huge fan of Heroes 3 : )
My only complaint about this game was that early on it had some NASTY bugs. In retrospect, however, it is (IMO) the best strategy/RPG blend to come out in ages.

i'm playing through this game right now and i love it. i honestly haven't played a single player game this fun in a while. i've put in about 20-30 hrs so far. you definitely get yours money worth with this game as it sucks you in and has an epic feel that a lot of games miss nowadays.
the exploration aspect of the game is awesome, cuz the environments look fantastic and you really feel the reward of lookin in every nook and cranny. also the music is AWESOME and adds even more flavor to it.
Its soooooo much better than homm5. The only criticism i have is that if you play long sessions of it, it can seem like you are always in the battle screen.
It is more like a singleplayer rpg with homm style combat than an army vs army strategy game tho.
I would like to see heroes/kings get together and put together a game just like this. I do not like being set with a choice of 3 characters and then being dictated what characters you can pick in army. Kings bounty is about a 8 out of 10. I would have much liked the option to pick which faction to play with. What does everyone think?

Good graphics, although they may not make or break a game, add a lot to game play. Think FPS and Sports games.
Atmosphere and exploration are very important aspects of games!

Why do people always rip on HOMMV? It was FANTASTIC and EVERY BIT as good as 3 and 4 even though it was developed by a new owner.
King's Bounty is great too. The real-time element makes it different in a cool way.

It is quite fun in the beginning. Till you hit like a 10 ton truck slamming into a massive boulder. Then the battles just become lengthy.

I would like to see heroes/kings get together and put together a game just like this. I do not like being set with a choice of 3 characters and then being dictated what characters you can pick in army. Kings bounty is about a 8 out of 10.
